🦆 Duck Shooting Season is Here — Is Your Pet Prepared?
Hey Pawsome family 🐾
With duck shooting season kicking off this weekend (2nd May), those early morning gunshots can be really unsettling for our furry friends. What’s a tradition for some can be a stressful time for pets — especially dogs and cats who are sensitive to loud, sudden noises.
Signs your pet might be anxious:
• Shaking or trembling
• Hiding or trying to escape
• Excessive barking or meowing
• Pacing or restlessness
• Loss of appetite
How you can help:
• Keep them indoors during peak shooting times (6:30am – 6:30pm, especially early mornings and evenings)
• Create a safe, quiet space with their bed, toys, and something that smells like you
• Close curtains and windows to help muffle the noise
• Play calming music or white noise to help mask outside sounds
• Stay calm — pets pick up on your energy
• Consider anxiety aids like calming treats, pheromone diffusers, or vet-prescribed options if needed
• Make sure your pet is microchipped and details are up to date, just in case they get frightened and escape
If your pet really struggles during this time, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team — we’re here to help keep them as calm and comfortable as possible 💙
Give your pets a little extra love and reassurance — they’ll appreciate it more than you know 🐶🐱
