The Canine Ritz

The Canine Ritz Caring love & attention for your precious pooch. Small dogs only, in my own home. Dogs walked 1-3 times a day, depending on physical ability.

Hydro bath available. The Canine Ritz is for any sized elderly dogs that require special care in a 'home environment' that cannot jump a fence. I mostly take care of small to small/medium, as long as they don’t jump fences. No one has actually tried, they seem to be having so much fun. The dogs will live with me in my home and become part of the family. (I adhere to Doggie Diplomas training metho

ds for those of you that train with Cath). Having been in the Pet Industry for over 25 years, I specialise in the administration of all kinds of medications. I have a certificate in Reiki, animal reiki obviously is my thing! I'm also embarking on a grooming course at the moment. You can go away on holiday, knowing you can breathe easy that your beloved four-legged family member will be well loved and well taken care of!

RIP Tilly 🌈

Last weekend we lost a beloved member of The Canine Ritz family.
Tilly was 17.
She absolutely loved coming here!
She loved playing ball and was quite vocal about it if anyone was standing around talking not kicking the ball for her.
Tilly often just loved to nuzzle up to me while watching TV, she just liked to have you touch her to be close.
I most certainly will miss her! 💔
I know she’ll be happy running round with friends chasing the ball over Rainbow Bridge! 🌈

FROM PAWSOME VETS

🦆 Duck Shooting Season is Here — Is Your Pet Prepared?

Hey Pawsome family 🐾

With duck shooting season kicking off this weekend (2nd May), those early morning gunshots can be really unsettling for our furry friends. What’s a tradition for some can be a stressful time for pets — especially dogs and cats who are sensitive to loud, sudden noises.

Signs your pet might be anxious:
• Shaking or trembling
• Hiding or trying to escape
• Excessive barking or meowing
• Pacing or restlessness
• Loss of appetite

How you can help:
• Keep them indoors during peak shooting times (6:30am – 6:30pm, especially early mornings and evenings)
• Create a safe, quiet space with their bed, toys, and something that smells like you
• Close curtains and windows to help muffle the noise
• Play calming music or white noise to help mask outside sounds
• Stay calm — pets pick up on your energy
• Consider anxiety aids like calming treats, pheromone diffusers, or vet-prescribed options if needed
• Make sure your pet is microchipped and details are up to date, just in case they get frightened and escape

If your pet really struggles during this time, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team — we’re here to help keep them as calm and comfortable as possible 💙

Give your pets a little extra love and reassurance — they’ll appreciate it more than you know 🐶🐱

Thank you to my lovely clients that help spread the word letting others know where to bring heir dogs. I really do appreciate it! ❤️

For those that don’t know, I don’t take big dogs, (unless they’re elderly).
I have chronic back pain, it’s something I’ve had for many years.
also due to an accident three years ago, crushing my hands, I can’t be getting pulled around by a big dog for either of those issues.
Plus the house is not that big. 🤣

As for grooming, I now only do my own clients, as I know the dogs are vaccinated and can run around with a friend to help dry off. The only dog I get that actually loves the dryer is Monty, (my Egg).

Model: MinPin Pippi on her way to visit her big sis.
