Have you heard about the new vaccine Bovilis Cryptium®?

This is a new vaccine given to pregnant cows between 12 and 3 weeks pre-calving. It works to increase antibody levels in colostrum at calving and aids in reducing the clinical signs of scouring caused by the Cryptosporidium bug.

This immunity is then passed on to calves via the colostrum, setting them up to be better protected against Cryptosporidium exposure.

It can be given at the same time as the Rotavec® Corona vaccine.

It’s very common for dogs over the age of two to develop dental disease – and working dogs are not immune to this!

Spore counts have dropped this week however vigilance is still encouraged.

Bringing in grass from your own property is the best way to assess the risk to your animals. If you are still getting counts around 20,000 it's not yet time to stop zinc supplementation. Some may wish to administer a third bolus if these are due. Those doing cattle water dosing should be cautious as you reach your 90-110 days of zinc in water, especially if you wish to inject copper-supplements around dry-off.

Clinical cases may still crop up and require treatment, so please contact us for assistance with any animals you are concerned.
