I had the pleasure of examining Inglewood PC's newest C+ riders this weekend, and was it was particularly rewarding because all four candidates had come through EVRS. There's nothing we love more than getting riders off to a really good start, and it's always a pleasure to see them go on and continue their riding success. Good job, riders and Julie!

It's that time of the year where we finish off the season with a few certificates.

Congratulations to Taylor & Ruby for sitting and passing their full C certificate. Also congratulations to Elliotte who sat and passed C riding. We look forward to seeing Elliotte competing the Horsemastership section of the C exam later in the year.

Congratulations to Zara, Annabel S and Ruby who sat and passed their full C+ on Saturday. Congratulations also goes to Cate for sitting and passing the riding section and now has her full C+ certificate.

As always, Thank- you to our examiners Gill and Kelly for assessing the riders. Thanks also to Julie and all the super coaches who have given their time to teach our riders. 🥳

MY HORSE IS NOT A SHORTCUT

Over recent weeks, we’ve noticed something encouraging across our Pony Club community.

Riders choosing to:

✅ Build strength with poles
✅ Practise transitions
✅ Improve position before increasing height
✅ Progress step by step

Before increasing height or speed, thoughtful riders are asking:

✅ Is my horse confident?
✅ Is my horse fit enough?
✅ Has my horse recovered properly?
✅ Am I riding better, or just riding more?

Through NZPCA programmes such as Equine Skills, the Certificate syllabus and the Pet-n-Sur Pony Club Academy, riders learn to plan training thoughtfully. Not rush it.

Our approach reinforces progressive conditioning, recovery and matching feed to workload.

Fitness is layered.
Confidence is developed.
Education creates longevity.

Peak with purpose 💚

Welfare includes physical health, nutrition, environment, behaviour and mental wellbeing. The 5 Domains we teach at NZPCA.

‣ Beginner - no or minimal experience
‣ Novice - just starting to canter & jump
‣ Intermediate - confident at canter and over small jumps, doing basic dressage
‣ Advanced - jumping full 50cm courses, capable on a range of horses, can ride a dressage test
