CRD is a registered charity dedicated to helping the stray and abandoned kittens and cats living on the streets of Dunedin. Along with our amazing team of volunteers we rescue, rehabilitate, desex and rehome hundreds of cats and kittens each year. We promote desexing of companion and stray cats, and aim to reduce the number of stray and unwanted cats in Dunedin. Our long-term aim is to have our own shelter but in the meantime, all our rescues are fostered in private homes by volunteers until they are ready for their forever homes.

Update: mama cat is now called Ebony.

Manny, Maddie, Rose and Squeaker are on the move and it won't be long until their mama has to start chasing them around.

They are all little chonkers and she is doing a great job of looking after them. She is trying to be fierce with her fosterer but she's really a big softy :-)

We've also just realised that she doesn't have a name. Would anyone like to sponsor this hardworking mum? It's $50 and you get naming rights.

PLEASE NOTE: Sponsorship is a tax-deductible donation of $50 to CRD towards our costs. Sponsorship entails naming the selected kitten (or cat) and doesn't ensure a preferential adoption position or serve as an adoption deposit.

We've received this lovely update from Milo's new mum.

He's living his best life on a farm with his three dog side kicks. He thinks he's one of them and is in charge of the dogs of course! He's such a cuddly and best wee man.

We think he looks very much at home!

Do you have one of our traps?
We are missing 11 traps! If you've had one and not returned it yet, can you either get it back to us, or phone 487 6789 and we will arrange for someone to pick it up from you. We're getting daily calls to help with pregnant mums and kittens, so we really need those traps soon please!
(If your trap loan is current, you're fine.)

These little babies came to us (with their mother) at one day old. Mumma cat will stay safely in our care until her kittens are weaned, then she will be spayed and return to her home.

Once old enough, the kittens will be desexed and available for adoption but in the meantime, who would like to name one in return for a $50 donation? Be first to comment 'sponsor' on their photo.

Maisie (who was Emerson) is well and truly settled into her new home.

She has loved finding all the sunny spots around the house to lounge in, sleeping in the bed at night and slowly getting used to going outside.

She was a firm favourite with everyone who met her while she was with us so it's lovely to see her doing so well in her new home :-)

We would like to say a massive thank you to who helped us out immensely by repainting our office after recent weather events 'gifted' us a waterfall inside our intake centre. They even donated the paint :-)

As you can see, they did a wonderful job. If you need any painting work done, we can thoroughly recommend them!

Thank you MR Decorating - you are the best and we really appreciate the donation of your time and expertise.
