Starting shadow.

Well shadow arrived here at Refresh about 5 weeks ago to undergo our light Starting program and yesterday we said goodbye and good luck as he returned home.
It's always bitter sweet when a client horse goes home, its such a journey Starting a horse under saddle and we get very invested in the process.

Shadow was a great student and we are super thankful to his owners for trusting him to us!

This was well over a week ago but here's some pictures from shadows first hack.
Shadow was doing really well out in the big paddock so I decided it was time to take him for his first hack up the lane.
He did supper well!

Starting shadow 10th ride.

I've been a bit slack posting thus last week but work has been continuing here at Refresh.

Shadow is going Really well here's a clip from his 10th ride out in a pretty decent size paddock.
This was his 3rd ride out of the round pen.
My apologies for the lack of updates but I've been flat out, id planned to catch up on posting this past weekend but ended up getting sick on Friday so just took the weekend to recover.

Two years since we got the Acadia stationbreds.

It's crazy that those foals in the pictures ( Wi******er and sako) are now 2.5 years old.

It's been a great experience working with these horses.

Float training Annie.

Annie is my 1.5 year old stationbred filly who has been spending most of the summer just going with little bits of light training in between.

This week I decided it was time to start working on float loading with Annie and she has done so well!
Annie is a super willing learner and super lovely to be around!
It's really rewarding seeing how far she has come from being born on our hill block and being untouched until 8 months old all the way to tying up, leading picking up feet and just being super friendly.
Annie may be available shortly after some more work but only to the right new home but if you're considering getting a lovely crosbred youngster then watch this space 😀
