Please get in touch if you would like to welcome pet sheep or hens into your life. We have a number of hens awaiting their forever homes who have been used for eggs for a number of years and are now needing somewhere to call home where they will be loved pets and can live out their lives. We also have rescue sheep needing pet homes where they will have treats, plenty of grass, shelter and good fencing. They are all sweet, beautiful souls who have survived the impossible and really deserve to find their forever homes.
The sheep can be transported too. The closer to Rodney district or north the better but if you can offer a loving home, please get in touch even if you are outside of that area as that is the most important thing!

✨ A huge thank you to SPCA for supporting our first ever desexing grant program through Sanctuary Under The Stars Charitable Trust. ✨

With this funding, we were able to provide free desexing for 2 pigs, 2 dogs, and 4 cats within our community — helping to prevent unwanted litters and improve long-term animal welfare outcomes for both animals and the humans caring for them. 🐷🐶🐱

This program also supported two mother cats who had already had kittens, helping break the cycle and creating a better future for the next generation of animals.

As a small grassroots sanctuary, this was our first time running a grant program like this, and we learned so much along the way. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity and proud of the positive impact already made in our community.

If we are fortunate enough to receive this funding again in the future, we hope to expand the program even further with wider community outreach so we can help even more animals in need.

Thank you again to SPCA for making this possible, and thank you to everyone who trusted us with their beloved animals. 💛✨

✨️Pet chickens need new home✨️

We rescued these 2 hens the very night before the big hen rescue so it's taken me a while to post and they are very ready to find their forever home.

These two sweet girls are a few years old. They shpuld have many happy years left but havent laid eggs in a long time. They are looking for a home where they can live out their lives as happy little chicken pets. They may lay again but they also may not so they need someone who can offer them a home to just be themselves.

They are a little shy but will eat out of your hand and are extremely bonded to each other so must be adopted as a pair. We are happy to help with transport within northland/auckland or further for the right home.
We would love to hear from you so these beautiful girls can find their happy ever after.
