Could not be more excited about our next golden child, due in November.
Out of Lola, a San Amour (Sandro Hit) mare.
San Amour is hugely sought after as a broodmare sire, particularly with the success recently of Dante’s Pearl OLD, who in just a few shows at GP level in Europe, is winning at international level with up to 77%. She is also out of a San Amour mare, and by Dante Weltino.

Likely to be another buckskin - I have a feeling this one will be retained!

We are eagerly awaiting Kens second crop of foals. And with San Amour, Viva Gold, and Dacaprio mares in the mix to name a few…..the young horse ring in a few years time sure looks exciting!

Temperament is such an overlooked consideration when breeding warmbloods, I see time and time again people buying bloodlines they perhaps haven’t researched well enough, and then being well out of their depth.
I myself have a ridden mare who is a double cross of Jazz - she is not for everyone 🤣 🔥 Especially now for dressage recently with so much more emphasis being placed on lightness, harmony, and relaxation….it will be interesting to watch what path the “trends” in Europe take with breeding to reflect this.

I have been so impressed with the temperament on this foal (Quasar/Gym Bello) - she is a super quick learner, bold, inquisitive, and loves the attention. Very similar to her father, who was also one of the easiest and most laid back young horses I’ve started!

Fresh paddock day for Kenneth 🥰
He has really matured - and unfortunately having a break from ridden life now while I have a full time “real” job and now living in closer to Christchurch while Ken remains out at in Darfield at my parents property. Only so many hours in the day and other horses (who don’t have another job like Ken does 😂) to produce. He is only 4 and still growing, so no rush at this stage!
He is looking fab on the back end of a very busy breeding season 👌🏻

Quickstep SSH is by Qaside MD, who shares the same sire as Quasar SSH (Quasi Gold).
Out of a Fugato/Sandreo mare, she is a 4yo I have started and am producing - with one of the most trainable natures I’ve come across, and fabulous mechanics for the top sport.

How exciting is it seeing such quality dilutes coming through, even a bit more exciting that this one is related to Quasar 🥰

Normally I do winter specials which get absolutely snapped up. This year those won’t be happening, but instead a “Super early bird” special for the 26/27 season. $1000 including GST, and a LFG. Guaranteed dilute foals from solid coloured mares.
There are only three of these available, first in, first served!
Please PM for a contract. Normally his service fee is $1700.
Quasar SSH has an incredibly exciting first crop of foals on the ground, with three Merit awards from the recent NZWBA classification tour.

We are at the tail end of the season - with still a few mares left on the books, we will be going until mid March.

Please, if you haven’t already - contracts need to be filled out and returned! LFG’s will not apply and service certificates can not be given if these are not in my inbox by 15 March.
Next season I will be tightening up, and semen will not be sent until I have contracts back, and full fees (incl flights/collection fees) paid for. It’s been a learning curve 🤣

Theres still time to get your mare in foal this season if you are quick, otherwise we will be back up and running from mid September for the 26/27 season - discounts apply for early bird bookings and return breeders, as well as incentives for resulting foals to be classified

I am exceptionally excited for my own golden child next season due November, from a San Amour mare. Everything is crossed for another filly!

Merit for Q'uintessential ✨

Next up we welcomed Sarita Kennedy, who made the trip across from Matamata with her eye-catching palomino c**t foal, Q'uintessential.
And he certainly lives up to his name.
Q'uintessential is by the yet to be licenced son of Quasi Gold MD, Quasar SSH and out of the New Zealand Warmblood Studbook mare Cienna Burnt Gold by Belmont Golden Boy / Deputy Governor xx.

For a foal by a first-season sire, Sarita was delighted to receive a Merit Award, a very solid result and a promising start.

A striking palomino c**t with presence and type, Q'uintessential joins Sarita’s growing collection of homebred warmbloods — horses she produces and competes herself in both dressage and eventing.

Another lovely example of thoughtful breeding with competition in mind.
