Paddington's first puppy groom ❤️
With his brother Teddy by his side, he was cool, calm and collected. He found the bath fun, decided the dryer was just a noisy thing that couldn't hurt him, and thought the clippers were fascinating to watch. Here's to a lifetime of happy associations with being handled and pampered!

Exciting news! Ben goes to his fur-ever home!

Gifted a wash package to his wonderful foster mum, who looked after this sweet boy for 5 months. Tomorrow he's off to his new family in Queenstown. Safe travels Ben! 🥰

Myth: "Groomers just love to shave my dog's coat. I brush him all the time and they still shave him right down!"

Fact: I don't want to shave your dog unless I have to!

I don't really mind how often you brush. I can tell if you're brushing right down to the skin, or just the top layer. A knot from yesterday comes out easily. When the knots move down to the skin, particularly when they get wet and dry out... that's when it forms painful mats. Can you imagine wearing a thick winter coat that gets smaller every day?

Mats aren't just the end of a healthy coat. They hurt, cause skin irritation, and hide nasties like germs, grass seeds and other signs the skin is not happy. We shave only when we have to, because we care.

I am always happy to help with brushing... from techniques, to finding the right approach with your pooch, and buying the right brush that works for you. Spoiler, the cheap ones work just as well if you know how!

Toby came in for his Summer cut...i.e practicality that suits him and his families lifestyle.

He wasn't a huge fan of the dryer...but I think his trust shines through after taking the time for cuddles and reassurance. Loving that happy tail! 🥰
