Going from the fittest and busiest I’ve ever been… to nothing, is a tough pill to take.

The last few months have been full on, riding 15 horses a day, gymming to keep my body strong enough to keep up with it all. And then in seconds, it all changed. I’ve broken my tibia palette, with the break going through the joint the recovery is going to be longer than usual.

I’m not sure what the next 3 months will look like but It will be a long road.

I am looking for a reliable person to join my team.

Hours:
🕗 8:00am – 1:00pm
📅 4 days per week

⚠️ This is NOT a riding position.

Duties include:
• Feeding and daily horse care
• Handling young and green horses
• Mucking out & general yard duties
• Grooming, tacking up and untacking
• Keeping the yard organised and running smoothly

✅ Applicant must be confident handling young horses and comfortable working in a busy environment.

We are looking for someone who is:
✔️ Reliable and hardworking
✔️ Calm and confident around horses
✔️ Able to work independently
✔️ Happy working outdoors in all weather

Experience with horses is essential.

Panda has been part of my team for the past 7 years, however with a number of young horses now coming through she is sadly not getting the time she deserves.

Panda was 110–120cm National Champion (1st) in 2025 and has accumulated plenty of wins and placings throughout her career.

She is coming back into work and will be available after wanaka show.

This is a genuine sale as she’s too good to be wasted in the paddock. She has been my top horse for the pass few years and I want to follow her journey with someone else.

Panda is not a complete beginner’s horse on the ground, however once you understand her routine she is straightforward and easy to manage. Only has been on a truck

There are only a few horses that come into my life that truly mean something, Costello is one of them.

From a horse many people had given up on, Costello made many of my dreams come true. He gave me wins, memories, and moments I will carry with me forever but More than anything, he taught me that heart and effort, can take you further than talent ever will.

I will forever be proud of what we achieved together and grateful we crossed paths

George is the luckiest to take over the reins and let his Gisborne life begin

Horses aren’t easy, they’re unpredictable, and sometimes things don’t go to plan, that’s just part of the job.

2025 has been full of highs, challenges, long days, and a lot of hard work. Over 40 horses started, two big trips north, and plenty of lessons along the way.
