⚠️ Heads up for anyone active in Facebook groups!

New Zealand's National Cyber Security Centre has issued a warning about a growing scam targeting Facebook users.

Fraudulent groups are popping up advertising free local activities like tai chi, walking clubs, and dance classes.

They can look legitimate with AI-generated content and local sounding names but they're designed to get you to download a malicious app that can access your bank account and personal information.

As people who rely on Facebook groups to connect with clients and community, it's worth knowing the signs:
-The group is new or has very few followers
-All posts were uploaded at once
-You're asked to download an app to get basic info like times or venues
-There's no clear link to a recognised local organisation

If you've clicked on anything suspicious, contact your bank straight away and delete the app. You can also reach out to ID Care for support.

Behind the scenes, PSNZ has been growing in some really exciting ways, new partnerships are forming, our resources are expanding, and opportunities and enquiries for pet sitters across Aotearoa are on the rise.

BUT our verified sitter community hasn't kept up with that growth. Which means we have more opportunities coming through than we have sitters to refer them to.

Stage 1 labour started yesterday 1 pm, Stage 2 started 8 pm with the first baby and finished around sunrise today with the last baby. Poor darling, exhausted 😞😞😞😞
