Spring is here and there's no better time to get some spring cleaning done! As such, we have come up with a great dental cleaning promotion for your pets.

It is an unfortunate fact that by the time cats and dogs reach the age of 6, many of them will have significant dental disease. This is not always apparent to you, their loving owner, as many pets will continue to eat well even with severe periodontal disease.

Until the end of September we are offering a Free Dental Assessment valued at $78. We will check your pet for any signs of dental disease and recommend a treatment plan if required. This examination is absolutely free.

To clean as many mouths as possible all dental procedures resulting from this assessment will qualify for a 15% discount during the month of September!

Offer ends 30th of September 2026. Call or book online following this link https://a.cw.vet/wigramvet?aid=q9bv28

Laryngeal paralysis in cats is rare, but it can make breathing noisy, difficult, or laboured. Early recognition can make a big difference. 🐱💙 Watch this very cool video our veterinarian Christina took last week!

🐾 Successful Tail Amputation (Caudectomy) Surgery 🐾
Annie the bulldog❤️
Annie underwent a screw tail amputation (caudectomy) two weeks ago after her lovely owners brought her in.
Annie had a screwtail, a congenital and heritable deformity where a dog's tail vertebrae are fused or misshapen, forcing the tail to tightly curl inward or twist. This led to a deep skin and bone infection called osteomyelitis which was treated with a long course of antibiotics prior to surgery. We were able to surgically remove the tail folds and leftover bone and leave Annie much more comfortable!
Annie is so resilient and she is now on the road to recovery with her lovely family ❤️

A little behind the scenes surgery in action! 🩺✨

A gastropexy is a preventative procedure that helps reduce the risk of gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), or "torsion," a life-threatening condition where the stomach twists on itself. Deep-chested dogs such as Dobermans, Great Danes, and Huntaways are predisposed to this emergency. During a gastropexy, the stomach is permanently attached to the body wall to help prevent this dangerous rotation.

Here's a look at one of our veterinarians performing a gastropexy to help keep this patient safe for years to come. ❤️

🌟 Featured Patient of the Week: Orenoko 🌟
Meet Orenoko, a handsome 12-year-old tabby who recently kept our team on their toes!
Orenoko came to see us after struggling with ongoing tummy troubles, including vomiting, diarrhoea, reduced appetite and weight loss. After a series of investigations, including blood tests and an ultrasound, he was diagnosed with a combination of pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and a Giardia infection.
Over several weeks, Orenoko spent time in hospital receiving intravenous fluids, pain relief, anti-nausea medications and lots and lots of TLC from our team. When his appetite became a concern, we placed a feeding tube to help provide the nutrition his body needed while he recovered.
Despite a challenging few weeks, Orenoko's bright personality never disappeared. His appetite gradually returned and his tummy settled. One of our favourite updates from his owner was that he had started giving "kisses before meals" again – a sure sign he was feeling more like himself!
We're pleased to say that Orenoko is now back home, enjoying his food, cuddles and creature comforts while continuing his recovery.

Well done, Orenoko – we're all very proud of you! ❤️🐾
