A special honour for our team at the All Blacks Experience.

Sixteen years after it was first used by the Black Ferns, the taiaha named Hiahia has found a new home at our All Blacks Experience in Tāmaki Makaurau, where it will welcome manuhiri from across Aotearoa and around the world.

We’re incredibly proud that one of our Ngāi Tahu Tourism experiences has been entrusted with Hiahia and the responsibility of helping share its story and significance with future generations.

As a new taiaha is carved to protect and accompany the Black Ferns into their next chapter, it is a privilege for the All Blacks Experience to become part of Hiahia’s continuing story.

Through the work of the Hollyford Conservation Trust, more than 12,000 hectares of the lower Hollyford Valley and Martins Bay are being restored, creating a safer future for treasured native species including tawaki (Fiordland crested penguins), whio (blue duck), kākā, ruru and the reintroduced kakaruai/South Island robin.
