We head to Ashburton on Saturday for their feature meeting with five runners.

12.55pm R3. NAMELESS - Terry Moseley
Very unlucky in her fresh up run, being held up numerous times up the straight to finish fourth. She’s bounced through that run well and couldn’t be happier with the way she is progressing this preparation. With a bit of luck, she will be right in the finish.

2.43pm R6. SALACIA PRINCESS - Alyssa Parris (a4)
Last start winner at Timaru. Really pleased with the way she has continued to improve in her work. She steps up to 65 grade for the first time. Can’t fault her work and the four kilos off will be valuable to her as she is a smaller mare.

3.54pm R8. ON PISTE - Terry Moseley
Won on debut at her last start. Steps up to black type level here. She’s a big filly who looks like the extra 200m will be no hassle to her. She’s still learning her craft but she’s done well in between races and will be improved by her debut outing.

5.05pm R10. DESERT MYSTIC - Terry Moseley
A new addition to our stable. He’s won five in the north and can race well fresh. His jumpout at Rangiora last week was good and he ran through the line well. Think he’ll continue to improve with the run under his belt.

5.05pm R10. HIVARI - Brett Murray
The tough old boy lines up in a fresh state with two trials under his belt. He looks in great order and never goes a bad race. Really looking forward to getting him back to the races and hoping to step him up over more ground this preparation.

Good luck to Colin Wightman with ‘Sugar’, Pip Wakelin who races ‘Salacia’ with me, Paul Cunneen and Chris Rowe with ‘Alice’, Peter Merton and Rich Hill Stud with the old boy ‘Eddie’, and Richard & Grant Woolford with ‘Wally’.

Ataahuadreamchaser and Desert Mystic enjoyed a nice day out at the Rangiora jumpouts.

Thanks to the team at Rangiora for putting these days on. Great to give them both a hit out on the grass.

After a winning double for the team yesterday, we race on our home track Riccarton Park on Saturday.

12.15pm R1. NAMELESS - Terry Moseley
Having her first run for the team, following a nice 3 year old season where she ran well in black type races. More than happy with her trial last week. Looks great in the coat and bright in her work. Drawn to get a nice trip and races well at Riccarton.

4.59pm R9. GIVEALITTLE - Terry Moseley
Good to have the old girl back in the stable. She’s had a few minor issues with her feet, which I feel we are now on top of. She looks an absolute picture and couldn’t have been happier with the way she trialled last week. She’s been a long time away from the races, and think she’s in fantastic order to go a cheeky race fresh up.

Good luck to Colin Wightman with ‘Sugar’, and Maurice Forde & Alistair McCann with ‘Gabby’.

To top off a great day at the Phar Lap, Salacia Princess (5m Shocking - Edmonton) took out the SnapBack @ Clearview Park Maiden 2200 - making it a double for the team!

She did a few things wrong during the running, but hit the front early in the straight and fought well to the line to win by a length under the guidance of apprentice Kendra Bakker, who never panicked when the horse wanted to do overdo it at times during the race.

A huge congratulations to Pip Wakelin and Paige Wakelin-Noble. Paige was not going to let me lay down on Gavelhouse and let someone else buy her, as her past owners have nice young horses coming through to focus on even though she had run a nice third for the team beforehand. She rides her every morning and has the perfect home lined up for her once her racing days are over. Good work Paige, she rewarded you well today!

A great way to start the day at Phar Lap Raceway, with On Piste (3f Ace High - La Veuve) winning the Celebrating Kylie Williams 3YO Maiden 1200m race.

Ridden by Terry Moseley, she jumped well and took a sit in the trail. The race unfolded perfectly for her and she hooked out on turning for home and quickened nicely to win by half a length. A massive thanks to Terry, he has taken ‘Alice’ under his wing from the start, he rides her track work each morning and been with her throughout her early education to get her to this point.

Congratulations to Paul Cunneen and Chris Rowe who own this lovely filly - she looks an exciting proposition for them going forward!

Two to race tomorrow at Phar Lap Raceway.

11.45am R1. ON PISTE - Terry Moseley
A daughter of Ace High on debut. Has performed well at the trials. Wide draw, but has good natural gate speed so hopefully she can put herself in a nice spot. She’s still green and immature, but the ability is there and whatever she can do tomorrow she will improve on.

4.19pm R9. SALACIA PRINCESS - Kendra Bakker (a2)
Had no luck last start when on the back of the leader which stopped a long way out. She doesn’t have a real turn of foot but is honest and grinds away. With two kilos off tomorrow and a bit of luck she can be competitive.

Good luck to Paul Cunneen & Chris Rowe who race ‘Alice’ and Pip Wakelin who races ‘Salacia’ with me!

Absolutely stoked with how Givealittle, Hivari, On Piste and Nameless trialled today. Things are looking exciting for the spring for the team.

Next set of trials we have Alberton Angel, who has had a few niggling issues but seems on the right track now, a newcomer to the team with good northern form, Desert Mystic and an exciting two year old who our team has high aspirations for called Ataahuadreamchaser all set to line up.

Here’s a video of our team parading today at Ashburton, in the same order as above. Thanks to Terry Moseley and Brett Murray for riding our team, and Katie Readings and Paige Wakelin-Noble for strapping the kids and good company!

One to race tomorrow on the Riccarton Synthetic.

12.56pm R1. SALACIA PRINCESS - Ashlee Strawbridge (a3)

Really impressed with her last start effort to run third first time over 2200. She wanted to over race into the first corner and do a few things wrong first time past the post, but think she’ll improve with that experience. Drawn barrier one, should get a soft trip and be in the fight again.

Good luck to Pip Wakelin who races the wee girl with me - after we had a wee push from Paige Wakelin-Noble to buy her on Gavelhouse! Not that it took much convincing - she is a delight to have in the stable.
