Recently, I’ve had a few ‘ crikey, that’s expensive!’ comments.
But you know what? In the grand scheme of things they are not.
I’m not over here making millions and for what I get out of it at the end is not as much as you expect.
Can the builder down the road who has multiple staff and fantastic buying power build it cheaper than me?
Probably.
Or the guy round the corner who’s pretty handy and doesn’t pay any tax.
Also probably.
I am a stay at home mum to 3 young children who saw a gap in the market and jumped at it.
The tools I require to make it all are not cheap.

I am a SMALL BUSINESS just starting out.
The discount I get off timber and the likes is minimal if we’re being frank.
I didn’t start this business to work for free!
We live rural, and in case you were living under a rock, I am required to pay income tax on every single thing I build.
I also have to pay ACC and an accounting fee.
Diesel, mileage, power, my time.
It all adds up!

Do I have tough skin? F**k no I don’t.
I take every comment to heart. I know I shouldn’t but I do.
Im just a mum over here trying to make ends meet in the most expensive time the world’s ever seen.

My brand has arrived 🤩

The silhouette is of my heart horse , Baxter.
I knew from the first time I ever sat on him as a 5yr old he was different.
Rising 17 this year he’s definitely slowed down with arthritis and injuries.
Still loves his wee adventures and knows his jobs to look after the kids 🥰
