✨ Stevie | 8yo | 15hh | Gisborne bred Pinto Mare ✨

Stevie is an 8-year-old, 15hh Gisborne-bred pinto mare who has now gone grey. She is a gorgeous-natured, fun and genuine mare with an impressive amount of positive mileage under her belt.

Stevie is a straightforward, honest and sensible ride who is ready to step into her next role as a Mum’s horse, teenager’s horse or small adult rider’s mount.

She is safe and sensible to hack alone or with company and is responsive without being sharp — no whip or spurs needed. She enjoys getting out and about, loves her jumping, and has done plenty of hacking and schooling both independently and in groups.

🏇 Stevie's experience includes:

Competition experience in Show Jumping, Show Hunter and RTR
40+ horse camps and treks
Pony Club
Adult rides
Has been on a couple gating hunts
Schooled over spars, wire, hedges and gates
Plenty of hacking and riding in new environments
Loves jumping, although she has had limited jumping with current owner
Previous competition and extensive riding experience with her previous owner

On the ground, Stevie is easy to catch and handle, great for the farrier and easy to float.

She is an easy keeper, best kept on minimal grass Stevie is sound with no known health issues.

She is the sort of mare who has seen plenty, has a great attitude and is ready for someone to get out and enjoy her. Whether you're wanting to hack, jump, compete or simply have a reliable horse to enjoy, Stevie has the experience and versatility to make a lovely all-rounder.

Days 18–22 with the June Muster Kaimanawas 🐴🤎

Just over three weeks into their domestication journey, this special bunch of foals continue to exceed all expectations. Every one of them has made incredible progress, taking each new challenge in their stride and settling beautifully into domestic life.

Jupiter
Has had her feet trimmed and is now confident being rugged and unrugged.

Athena
Has also had her feet trimmed and is now confident being rugged and unrugged.

Cookie
Has had his feet trimmed, learnt to load onto the float, and will continue building confidence with having all four feet picked up over the coming week.

Florence
Has had her feet trimmed and is now happy being rugged and unrugged.

Wheturoa
Had her registration photos taken this week, is confidently picking up all four feet, and is happy being rugged and unrugged.

Coyote
Has been incredibly brave this week. He has learnt to be rugged and unrugged and is now becoming confident with having his feet handled, navigating obstacles, and loading onto the float.

Days 13–17 with the June Muster Foals 🐴

Although there haven't been many updates recently, these special babies are continuing to make awesome progress every day and are growing in confidence with each new experience.

Wheturoa
This wee superstar has now passed all the milestones needed for her first off-property outing! She loaded and unloaded like a champion and thoroughly enjoyed her adventure.

Florence
Florence has now reached the same point as Wheturoa and is proving to be just the sweetest wee girl for everyone who works with her.

Jupiter
Jupiter is now happily picking up all four feet and has also been on her first adventure. She's a wee star and takes everything in her stride.

Coyote
Coyote can now pick up all four feet and is continuing to build his trust and confidence day by day. It's been lovely to watch him come out of his shell.

Athena
Athena is now allowing all four hooves to be picked up and is starting to soften more and more as she settles into domestic life.

Cookie
Cookie has learnt to tie up, can be groomed all over, is comfortable having all four hooves handled, and has begun the process of learning to pick up his front feet.

Every one of these foals continues to take huge steps forward, and we're incredibly proud of how well they're adapting to their new lives. ❤️

Days 8–12 with the June Muster Kaimanawas
All of these awesome youngsters are settling into domestication incredibly well.

At this stage, everyone has made fantastic progress, and we're now down to just a few key milestones — picking up feet, rugging, and floating — before we move into focusing on consolidating everything they've learnt so far.

Athena (orphan filly with the little star)
Athena is now happy to be caught in a large paddock, can be touched on all four legs, and is beginning to come out of her shell. It's been lovely watching her confidence grow day by day.

Florence (orphan filly with the big star)
Florence has transformed into the easiest little cuddle bug. She's easily caught in a large paddock, happily picks up all four feet, and is a pleasure to rug and handle in every aspect.

Wheturoa
Wheturoa continues to be a wonderfully cruisy lass. She loves a good scratch and is now happy being caught, led, tied up, having her feet handled, and has learnt to wear a rug.

Jupiter
Jupiter has been on her first farm adventures and is happily crossing obstacles. She's comfortable being caught in the paddock and can now be touched on all four legs.

Coyote
Coyote can now be touched on all four legs and has been out on his first adventures. He can find the big wide world a little scary at times, but he always tries his best to be brave, tackle new obstacles, and keep moving forward. He has also learnt to tie up.

Cookie
Cookie has progressed to leading confidently, crossing obstacles, and heading out on his first farm adventures. He has also learnt to be touched on all four legs and continues to take everything in stride.

We're incredibly proud of this special group. In less than two weeks they've gone from wild-born youngsters to foals who are learning to trust people, explore new environments, and take on new challenges with confidence. We can't wait to see what the next week brings for these six amazing kids. 🐴❤️

One week in with this muster’s wild foals, and what an incredible week it has been! 🐴✨
All 6 foals have now learnt to wear a halter, and the majority are already leading confidently. It's been amazing to watch each of them grow in confidence and begin to understand life with humans.

Wheturoa and the orphan filly with the big star are currently our two little front-runners. Both are confidently being caught and led, tackling obstacles, heading out on farm adventures, having all four feet picked up, and taking every new experience in their stride.

Each and every one of these special babies is building positive, meaningful connections every day. Watching their trust grow and their personalities shine through is incredibly rewarding.

I feel very lucky to spend my days with such a sweet, curious, and cuddly bunch of foals, and I can't wait to see what the next week brings for them all. ❤️

A wee update on the foals over the past few days 🐴✨

This lovely group of five special youngsters are settling into domestic life incredibly well, each taking the next steps in their journey at their own pace.

The two orphan fillies (who are still nameless 🙈) continue to amaze us with their resilience. Both are now happily wearing rugs, confidently leading out around the farm on little adventures, and absolutely adore their scratches and attention. Watching these girls learn to trust and embrace their new lives has been incredibly rewarding.

Coyote, our plain bay c**t, continues to make steady progress. Today marked a big milestone as he wore a halter for the very first time. He approached the experience with his usual thoughtful nature and is growing in confidence with every handling session.

Jupiter is a naturally curious filly who is progressing steadily. She can now be comfortably rubbed on all four legs using two sticks and is working on accepting more touch around her head as we prepare for her first haltering sessions.

Wheturoa remains the cuddliest member of the group. She genuinely loves affection and is always first in line for a scratch. Today she took another big step forward, progressing to her first leading session and taking it all in stride.

Every one of these youngsters is developing their own personality and confidence, and it is a privilege to be part of their journey

ORPHAN FOAL UPDATE 🐴🩷

Across a couple of gentle handling sessions, both wee girls have made fantastic progress. They have learnt to enjoy scratches all over, are happily wearing their first halters, and have had their first leading sessions, which they both took to like little champions.

They are also starting to tuck into their hard feed, which has milk powder mixed through it to help meet their nutritional needs. On top of that, they are enjoying their milk from a bucket, which is currently watered down as they gradually adjust to their new feeding routine.

For two babies who have had such a tough start, it has been incredibly rewarding to see them settling in, gaining confidence, and beginning to trust people. they seem a little brighter, a little stronger, and a little more cheeky.

We still have a long road ahead, but these girls are proving to be very special little fighters. Thank you to everyone who has supported their journey so far.
