Chat about preparing seedlings/cuttings for planting in the garden. Don’t shock them! Give them some acclimatisation time to prevent burnt leaves and transplant shock. 10 days approx of inside/outside time.
Also, talking to camera is hard! I’m one-take only, no time for repeating. Eep! Being brave. At least my face doesn’t have dirt freckles this time haha.

Is there anything better than germinating seeds?!!!! Who are all my fellow seed raising lovers 🙌
Working on my timing since I am primarily a dahlia girl, I want my other flowers to coincide with when my dahlias bloom. So not super early. Hard not to race into spring though when everyone else is sowing everything. I just need my filler flowers to be ready with my focal flowers so going at my own pace. Always refining the season schedule 👍
Applause for Salmon Runner who despite being disbudded continually is determined (I gave up) to be first bloom out 😂🥰 🌸

Beaming!! Saturday spent with this glorious human Chaos Blooms Cutting Garden , sharing her top-notch tubers with all of the dahlia lovers at the Grand Tuber Sale. What a time…meeting so many familiar faces from social media, beautiful customers I met last week at my Cambridge market, talking through the shopping wishlists and the colours and forms and all-of-the-quick-math-additions (girl had to get out the phone calculator couple times 🤓). First in-person market for Booker Blooms | Dahlia flowers, tubers & seeds . How AMAZING to meet so many dahlia lovers!!! Just the nicest fellow gardeners, all waiting so patiently in quite the queue (thank goodness for sunshine and coffee cart!). And the best little team of local Cambridge businesses to share the morning with. Thanks Frankie & Flora for your beautiful studio space.

Collecting dahlia seeds to sell is quite the process! Collecting, drying, chaffing/winnowing, inspecting every seed individually, packaging, and germination testing. A LOT of really labour intensive steps! Starting to send my 2026 seeds out into world, little packets of potential dahlia beauty…you never know what ya gonna get 🥰💕🌸
