The Leading Stallion of the Tour Award recognises the stallion within the New Zealand Warmblood Stud Book system whose three highest placed progeny across the entire tour achieve the greatest combined score.

This award celebrates consistency, influence, and the ability of a sire to repeatedly produce quality young stock.

For 2026, the competition was exceptionally close.

With depth and consistency across the pony divisions, Deveron Numbers Game secured the Leading Stallion title by the narrowest of margins.

Remarkably, this marks the second consecutive year he has won this prestigious award — a true testament to his impact as a sire.

🌟 Worthy of Special Mention

The leaderboard was incredibly tight this year:

• Cornet’s Air – 244.25
• Eurosport Chacco Di Villagana Z – 242.75
• Quintiago WD (newly licensed stallion) – 242.5

The small margins between these totals highlight the depth and competitiveness of the NZWB breeding population.

Unfortunately for New Zealand breeders, Deveron Numbers Game has now been gelded to start his ridden career, with only very limited frozen semen available.

However, his influence is clearly already well established — and there is little doubt we will continue to feel his impact for many years to come in both pony breeding and Warmblood Derivative breeding in New Zealand.
