🐾 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗵𝘆 🐾

Murphy came to see me after a pretty uncomfortable skin flare-up.
His mum was understandably worried — he was itchy, irritated, and scratching a lot.

Rather than jumping straight into pharmaceuticals (and the potential side effects that can come with them), she wanted to explore another option first…

🚨 Laser therapy

After assessing Murphy, I couldn’t see any reason why we couldn’t give it a go first— and honestly, he was such an awesome dude through it all.
Total champ for his sessions 💛

After just a couple of treatments targeting his red, inflamed skin:
✔️ The redness started to settle
✔️ The itching reduced significantly
✔️ And most importantly… he looked so much more comfortable

We also supported him alongside his treatments with:
🌿 Ozone gel on the areas that had become a bit raw from scratching
🌿 Deer velvet to help support his immune system and skin health

💡 Laser therapy is incredible for calming inflammation — and in Murphy’s case, it meant we could avoid going down the pharmaceutical route unnecessarily

And that matters.

Because sometimes it’s not about never using medication…
It’s about knowing when we might not need to.

⚠️ Always remember — if an animal presents to me with something that requires veterinary attention, I will always recommend that straight away.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

Not in a dramatic way.

In the quiet moments.

When they take a little longer to get up. When the walk gets shorter.
When they sleep deeper than they used to. When their eyes still light up… but their body doesn’t always follow.

You start noticing everything.

The slight hesitation before jumping into the car.
The way they shift their weight when standing.
The days they seem brighter.
The days they seem tired.
The tiny changes nobody else would probably even see.

And suddenly you’re living in this strange space between gratitude and fear.
Grateful they’re still here.
Scared of what’s coming.
Trying not to overthink every bad day. Trying not to miss the good ones because you’re already worrying about the future.

And I think that’s the part people don’t talk about enough.

Caring for an older animal isn’t just about managing arthritis, stiffness, pain, weakness, or mobility.

It’s emotional.

It’s making decisions with your heart in your throat.
It’s wondering if you’re doing enough. Wondering if you’re doing too much. Wondering if they’re sore.
Wondering if they’re happy.
Wondering how you’ll know.

And underneath all of that…
You just want more good days.
Not perfect days.
Not puppy days.
Not turning back the clock.

Just days where they feel comfortable. Where they still want to sniff the grass. Where they still enjoy their food. Where they can move a little easier. Where they still feel like themselves.

That’s what I care about.

Not just adding time.
Adding comfort. Adding ease. Adding quality. Adding support to the body that has carried them through their whole life.

Because older animals don’t need us to give up on them.
But they also don’t need us to pretend nothing is changing.

They need us to see them clearly. To listen closely. To support them gently. And to make their world a little easier wherever we can.

That’s where my heart is with Paw Energetics.

Helping older animals feel more comfortable in their bodies… and helping their people feel less alone in the weight of loving them through this stage.

Because I know how much they mean.
And I know how hard it is when their body starts changing before your heart is ready.

🐾 Bentley had his titre test today 🩸💚

Bentley has just turned 1 year old, which meant he was due for his follow-up vaccination.

💉But instead of automatically vaccinating because “it’s time”… we chose to check his immunity levels first.

And his titre test came back POSITIVE ✨ Meaning he still has protective levels of antibodies from his previous vaccinations.

This is exactly why I’m such a big advocate for titre testing instead of just automatically vaccinating every year because “it’s due

A titre test checks whether your dog already has protective levels of antibodies from previous vaccinations — so instead of guessing, we can make informed decisions based on what their immune system is actually doing.

For a lot of dogs, immunity lasts far longer than people realise.

That doesn’t mean vaccines are bad.
Core vaccinations have saved countless lives and are incredibly important.

But it does mean we should start asking:
👉 Does this individual dog actually need another vaccine right now?

Because every dog is different 🐾
Their age, breed, lifestyle, health status, immune system, previous vaccine history, medications, chronic disease risk, and environmental exposure all matter.

Titre testing allows us to move away from blanket protocols and towards more individualised care.

Less unnecessary immune stimulation. Less guesswork. More informed choices.

Bentley was an absolute superstar for his test today 🐶✨

This is the direction I’d love to see pet healthcare moving more towards — not fear-based medicine… not anti-vaccine… just smarter, more tailored decisions for the animals in front of us 💚

🩷🐾 Happy 13th Birthday My Gorgeous Girl 🐾🩷

13… how did that even happen?

I’ve had you since you were a tiny little fluff ball, and somehow that still feels like yesterday.
You’ve grown up with me,
been there through everything,
and I honestly don’t know life without you in it.

You’ve always had your own little personality… your sass, your quiet way of just being there, your knowing looks. Nothing much gets past you.

And even now, at 13, you’re still you. Still have that spark. Still my big girl.

You’ve been my constant through so many seasons of life, and that’s something I’ll never be able to put into words properly.

I don’t take a single day with you for granted.

🐾The hard side of loving what you do🐾

🌈In the last week, I’ve lost four patients to the rainbow bridge.

And every time this happens, I question why I do this.

Because every animal I work with holds a place in my heart.
And when they leave, it’s felt.

And I’m not sorry about that.

I’ll cry.....
I’ll hurt....
I’ll grieve....

Not because they were my pets,
but because they were part of my world too

I pour everything into what I do-
helping them move better, feel better, live with less pain.
And the trade-off for caring that much…
is that you feel the loss just as deeply.

But alongside the hard days,
are the ones that remind me why I keep showing up....
💚The first pain-free steps.
💚The wagging tails.
💚The dogs who start playing again.
💚The spark that comes back into their eyes.
The moments where they feel like themselves again.

I get those days too.
And they matter just as much.

So yes… this part hurts.
More than most people realise.

But I’ll take the hard days…
because they come with the privilege
of being part of the good ones too.

And loving your furbabies like they’re my own will never be something I apologise for❤️ 🐾
Hold yours a little closer tonight ✨️🐶🐱✨️

• Restriction through the shoulder (affecting natural stride)

• Increased risk of injury over time
• Reduced performance and comfort — even in everyday walks

🚫 Harnesses that cut straight across the shoulder are one of the biggest culprits.

You are the most amazing little dog with the biggest personality.
You’ve brought so much into our lives in such a short time… I can’t believe you’re already one.
It feels like just yesterday you fit in one hand — and now you’re twice the size we expected, with even more attitude than we were ever ready for.

And honestly… we wouldn’t change a single thing.
You love your family so fiercely, and you keep us all on our toes every single day.
You make me grateful, always, that you chose me to be your mum.
