🦷Did you know 50-70% of the tooth is situated below the gum line!?

🦷Dental radiography is an essential part of veterinary medicine as it allows us to detect tooth root abnormalities, bone changes, confirm complete tooth extraction and identify developmental and traumatic abnormalities that cannot be seen during a visual oral exam. 50-70% of the tooth is situated below the gum line, therefore degradation of over half of the tooth can be invisible for us to see without radiography.

🦷In these images we have highlighted the roots of a healthy premolar, and comparatively in a premolar where the roots are resorbing (dissolving). This can be extremely painful and requires extraction of the affected tooth, and otherwise could have been missed without the use of radiography.

🦷Our skilled veterinarians and nurses can perform full mouth radiographs of your pet at the time of their general anaesthetic for dental cleaning.

Help your cat say goodbye to arthritis pain with Solensia! 🐱

Solensia is a monthly injection that targets the pain caused by arthritis.

Arthritis is a condition that leads to pain and progressive degeneration of the joint.

Signs that your cat is suffering from arthritis can be subtle, they are quite good at hiding their pain and you may not realise they are struggling.

Some signs to look out for include:

-Reduced mobility
-Weight changes
-Changed behaviour
-Interrupted sleeping patten
-Electing to sleep in an area lower to the ground,
-Less interaction
- Less mobile
-Less engaged
-Defecating outside the litter box,
-Hesitating when jumping
-Difficulty grooming
-Decreased quality of life

Each injection lasts for a full month and can be used alongside vaccines, antibiotics and flea/tick products.
