I am a qualified canine trainer, who educates owners on the use of positive training to strengthen their relationship and communication with their dog. I use scientifically proven training methods to positively reinforce desired behaviours from your dog and to diminish undesirable behaviours. I do not train using fear or ‘dominance- based’ methods, I use positive reinforcement and calm, confident

energy to create well balanced, reliable and obedient canine companions. Your dog will learn consistency with obedience commands and become focused and responsive in new environments. As a result, we will create coherent and transparent communication between owner and dog and make life with your dog happier and stress free. There’s a plethora of exercises to teach your dog from chasing birds - this is a super easy level 1 exercise to help disengagement

I have always loved teaching obedience and real world communication to my own dog and clients dogs.
But I hear owners say “I don’t want my dog to be a robot.”

Training and communication systems aren’t about creating a robot.
(That sounds super lame and boring and personally I wouldn’t be interested in teaching that 😅😅 )
They’re about creating a dog who understands you, trusts you and can make good choices so you can give them more freedom, not less.

A solid recall means they can run off lead.
A reliable “leave it” means they can explore more safely.
Clear communication means they can understand what’s expected of them in the real world.

The goal isn’t a dog who never gets to be a dog.

The goal is a dog who can be a dog with more freedom, because you trust them to handle it.

Practice what you peach. 🤣🤣

If you’re constantly saying your dog’s name, there’s a good chance they’ve learned to tune it out.

“Buddy… Buddy… BUDDY… BUDDY!” 😂

Their name shouldn’t be background noise it should be a cue that means “check in with me.”

Try this instead:

Say their name once → JACKPOT! 🎰 🍪

Keep it easy, keep it rewarding, and don’t waste their name by repeating it over and over when they’re not responding.

Build the habit when there are minimal distractions first, then gradually make it harder.

Save this one and practise it for 2 minutes a day. 🐶

Level 1 recall! Keeping it SUPER SIMPLE.

Have: long line & rewards (toy or food)

1- Say their name and come #
2- YES the moment they acknowledge you
3- Keep moving backwards and get excited

💡 THE LIGHT SWITCH CONCEPT

Think of your dog’s commands like a light switch.

“SIT” = LIGHT ON 💡

Once you give the command, the behaviour is ON. Your dog stays in that position until you tell them the behaviour is finished.

“FREE… OKAY, BREAK!” = LIGHT OFF 💡

The release cue switches the behaviour OFF.

Your dog shouldn’t decide when the command ends - you do.

This applies to your sits, downs, stays, place, waits… pretty much any behaviour you want your dog to hold with clarity.

Train the ON.
Teach the OFF. 💡
