This sweet lady came to see us recently after developing a limp. On examination, we found a thick thorn/grass seed lodged between her paw pads — ouch! 😣
The seed was carefully removed, and she is now sporting a little bandage to keep the area clean and protected while it heals. 💗
Grass seeds can easily become embedded in paws, ears, noses and coats, and if left unnoticed, they can sometimes cause infection or migrate deeper into the tissues.
🌿 A little reminder to check your pets after walks:
🐾 Check between their paw pads and toes.
🌱 Run your hands through their coat, especially around feet, ears and armpits.
👀 Keep an eye out for limping, licking, swelling or soreness.
🩺 If you suspect a grass seed is stuck, get it checked by your vet
A few minutes of checking after a walk can help prevent a much bigger problem! 🐶💚
