Don't be tempted to sneak your dog a bite of your Christmas lunch today - even if they give you their best puppy dog eyes! Remember, these festive foods are for dogs if you want to avoid an emergency trip to the vet:

🍫 chocolate
☕ caffeine
🍇 raisins and grapes
🧅 onions and garlic
🥜 nuts, especially macadamias, mouldy walnuts, almonds and pistachios
🌽 corn cobs (the cobs can cause gastrointestinal obstructions)
🍖 cooked bones: these can splinter when chewed, causing much irritation to the gastrointestinal tract
🍬 sugar-free sweets containing xylitol or birch sugar

Keep a stash of their favourite dog treats on hand - and leave the Christmas BBQ and fruit cake for your human guests!
