It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share some personal news with you.

Zephyr, our beloved greyhound and the soul behind Woofo Empawrium, has passed away on 10th April.

For many of you, Zephyr came before Woofo did. You knew her face before you knew our name. Zephyr and Teddy were even lucky enough to meet some of you guys in person.

Today is her Gotcha Day. 7 years feels like the dream of a long afternoon nap, and yet a lifetime with her still wouldn’t have been enough.

What began as an ankle injury revealed something far crueller — osteosarcoma, which had already spread. When faced with the choice of amputation for just a few more months, we made the hardest and most loving decision we’ve ever had to make. We let her go.

She spent her last day surrounded by her favourite people, peaceful and so deeply loved.

Zephyr is many things: quirky and gentle, stubborn and sweet, energetic about the things she loves, delightfully lazy about the things she doesn’t. She loves her own space but quietly wants you nearby. She loves breezes on a not-too-hot day (and her name is Zephyr, so that tracks). She loves her people, her food, and her routine.

She is the muse behind so many of our creations, a gentle soul with the most beautiful, trusting brown eyes.

We are grateful beyond words for every one of you who has been part of this journey. In many ways, you were part of her world too, and that means more to us than we can say.

Woofo will continue — because continuing is how we honour her. But we will carry her with us in everything we do.

Zephyr, you are the heart of it all. Always. 🐾🤍
