This young tabby has been hanging around an address in Dairy Flat and does not belong to any of the neighbours. Very friendly but with unfortunately no collar or microchip. Let us know if you are missing your cat.

EDIT: she is not being held by us. The kind people who's house she is hanging around are caring for her and trying to find her owners. Proof of ownership will be required.

Nutrition Spotlight: Hill’s Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Stress 🐱

Did you know stress can have a huge impact on a cat’s bladder health?

Cats experiencing stress-related urinary issues may start showing signs such as:
🚩 Urinating outside the litter tray
🚩 Frequent trips to the litter box
🚩 Straining to urinate
🚩 Blood in the urine
🚩 Vocalising or seeming uncomfortable when toileting

One common condition we see is Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC) — inflammation of the bladder often linked to stress and environmental factors.

That’s where a specially formulated urinary diet can help.

Hill’s Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Stress is clinical nutrition designed to support urinary health while also helping cats manage stress. It works by:

✔️ Supporting a healthy urinary environment
✔️ Controlling minerals that contribute to crystal and stone formation
✔️ Promoting an ideal urine pH
✔️ Including ingredients to help manage stress-related urinary episodes

It’s also clinically tested to reduce the recurrence of common urinary signs and supports long-term bladder health 🐾

Meet adorable Unicorn Sparkly — or just Unicorn for short 🦄 ✨

Unicorn is a sweet 1.5-year-old calico DSH who began urinating inappropriately around the house. After a urine test, she was diagnosed with feline idiopathic cystitis (stress-induced cystitis).

Since starting on Hill’s c/d Multicare Stress diet, Unicorn’s inappropriate urination has stopped completely and she is now happily and consistently using her litter tray again 💕

If your cat is suddenly toileting outside the litter box, don’t assume it’s behavioural — urinary issues can be painful and stressful for cats. Our team can help determine the cause and discuss whether a prescription urinary diet may help.

⚠️ Important: If your male cat is straining to urinate, making frequent trips to the litter tray, producing very little urine, crying/vocalising, or seems distressed, please contact your veterinarian immediately. A urethral obstruction (“blocked bladder”) is a life-threatening veterinary emergency and requires urgent treatment.

Nutrition Spotlight: Royal Canin Hypoallergenic 🐾

Food allergies and sensitive tummies can make life pretty uncomfortable for dogs — itchy skin, sore ears, vomiting, diarrhoea and ongoing digestive upset can all be signs that something in the diet isn’t agreeing with them.

That’s where a carefully selected prescription diet can make a huge difference.

Royal Canin Hypoallergenic is a complete veterinary diet specially formulated for adult dogs with food sensitivities and gastrointestinal concerns. It contains:

✔️ Hydrolysed soy protein – broken down into tiny particles so the immune system is far less likely to react to it

✔️ Skin barrier support – with optimal B vitamins and amino acids to help maintain healthy skin

✔️ Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA & DHA) – to support skin health and promote a glossy coat

✔️ Prebiotics and balanced fibres – to help soothe and support sensitive digestive systems

Meet gorgeous Ginny 🐩

Ginny is a 4-year-old Standard Poodle who was struggling with food allergies and suspected inflammatory bowel disease. After completing a food elimination trial, it was discovered that chicken was the culprit behind her flare-ups.

Since transitioning onto Royal Canin Hypoallergenic, Ginny has been absolutely thriving — with improved digestion, healthier skin and a much happier tummy.

And best of all she loves the taste too!

If your dog is dealing with chronic itching, recurrent ear infections, gastrointestinal upsets or suspected food allergies, chat to our team about whether a prescription diet trial may help.

This gorgeous boy Chevy came in on Friday with a sore hotspot on his face that needed clipping and treatment — a situation that can be stressful for many dogs!

Instead of restraint, we took a fear-free approach. Using a licki mat and some tasty treats Vet Nurse Amber was able to distract him while Vet Georgia gently clipped and cleaned the area.

No force. No fear. Just trust, patience, and positive experiences.

Fear-free handling helps to reduce anxiety and stress, build trust with the vet team and make future visits easier.

We’re so proud of how well he did — and it’s a great reminder that small changes can make a big difference in your pet’s experience at the vet.

Got a nervous pet? Chat to our team about how we can make their visit as calm and comfortable as possible.
