Mocha update! 😊
The first two videos are his “before” videos the first day I met him during his assessment.
The third video is a “progress” video taken this morning.
Mocha has been an extremely challenging case but I’m very pleased with the progress we have achieved in the last 6 weeks.
Mocha is now able to coexist within the pack environment (muzzle free!) and he enjoys it! He may never be a social dog but our aim was for him to be neutral and most importantly safe around other dogs.
The next step for Mocha will be learning to remain neutral around strange dogs we may come across out and about which will be achieved through one on one sessions.
Mocha is lucky to have such a dedicated owner! It’s a big commitment to take on a rescue dog with behavioural issues but his mum is up for the challenge! All the skills I teach Mocha will be transferred to his mum for her to follow through with training so she is able to achieve the same results with Mocha.

I’m so grateful to be able to help my wonderful clients bring out the best in their dogs! I have such dedicated owners which really helps. They take my advice on board and are proactive with their training and the results speak for themselves!

Easter boarding available!

Please message if you’d like to book your dog in for boarding at the farm over Easter!

Limited spots available as we only take on small numbers and preference will be given to current clients/dogs that have stayed with us before!

Unlike other home stay services we are a crate/kennel free environment and the dogs are taken off site for daily 3 hour adventure walks! Training is provided for any new dogs. They then have full run of the fully fenced property for the rest of the day! This makes for happy content dogs that board with us! ❣️

Adventure Fridays! All breeds welcome!

A 3/4 hour training based adventure walk focusing on social skills, basic training including recall and leash walking!

We keep our numbers small (most of the dogs pictured are our own) so we can ensure that we cater to each dogs individual needs.

Long overdue Facebook post! 🐾

What a great first year starting up our Collie Club!
We look forward to next year and hopefully introducing some new dogs to the club as we will have two spaces opening up in the new year!

Service area includes some parts of West Auckland, Wheunuapai and a drop off/pick up location in Albany.

Collie Club is a full day service which includes a 3-4 hour adventure walk followed by individual training sessions focusing on obedience/agility/life skills/behavioural problems. The sessions are catered to each dog’s individual needs/owners request.

Why a breed specific group is beneficial:

- Similar size.
- Similar play style.
- Similar energy levels.
- Similar behaviour and tendencies.

Our Collie Club is specifically designed to meet both the physical and mental needs that Border Collies require!

We also offer boarding at our West Auckland farm for any breed of dog! We have plenty of spaces available over Christmas/NY/Jan/Feb!
We pride ourselves in offering a kennel free environment where the dogs have free run in our large fully fenced paddocks all day. We also only take on small numbers which means we can go offsite for daily adventure walks!

Despite the awful weather we had another awesome day which included welcoming both Gypsy and Eden to the Collie Club!

Gypsy was actually a rescue that I fostered and rehomed to a lovely family 2 years ago! It was great to see her again and she settled straight back in with us like she had never left.

Eden is a 1.5 year old lilac tri Border Collie. She was a little nervous initially but we focused on relationship building and by the afternoon I had made great progress with her! I will be focusing on Eden’s obedience as well as doing a lot of confidence building exercises with her (see Instagram for videos!).

Our day started with a 3 hour forest hike in the pouring rain.
We continued to focus on Remi’s leash skills and teach new pup Eden how to walk correctly on lead. Gypsy has already had all of the foundation training having lived with me for a few months so she was pretty much off lead from the get go and still had the snappy recall I taught her!
We then did a bit of one on one training at the pet shop. Astro aced this! Remi is still quite nervous in new environments so Remi’s mum now has some homework to do!
It was a bit too miserable to get the agility equipment out so we ventured to the beach instead. I’m super proud of Astro who is now choosing to engage with me the moment he sees anyone else/other dogs. This is a significant improvement as just 3 weeks ago he would escalate and whinge when we came across other beach/forest users.
Remi had some time off lead and although there were moments of over excitement she did really well!
We finished the day in the under cover area practising our group photos.

What an awesome day we had for our 3rd day running the Collie Club! 😊

We started with a long forest hike followed by individual training sessions and ending the day with a beach trip!

We welcomed new pup Remi to the pack who is the 4th member of our Collie Club. Remi is young and excitable so we will be focusing on the basics (loose leash walking, recall and listening around distractions) as well as exposing and socialising her in new environments. She met the chickens today and did very well at staying calm.

Our OG Laika was back with the pack today and we progressed to some larger agility sequences. He is such a great dog to have as one of our foundation members and sets a great example for younger dogs like Remi!

Astro had his second day today and I’m pleased with the bond I’ve established with him already! We are still working on remaining neutral when walking past other forest users but I’m already seeing an improvement from last week. Astro surprised me with his drive so we did some toy play and trained a few foundation agility skills.

Dogs number 2 + 3 to welcome to our Collie Club are Astro and Kero!

Astro actually belongs to our friends The Dog Squad but they’ve signed him up for Collie Club so he receives a little more one on one time/mental stimulation.
Astro is deaf but already knows sign language and comes pre trained!
We will do some agility training for fun but mostly work on his excitement levels when passing other forest users.

Kero has actually come to stay for 3 months whilst her parents are overseas! She has been a pack walking client for a while now but I’m excited to spend a bit more one on one time with her. Kero can be a little dog aggressive with her owners so we will spend time teaching her to be neutral around new dogs we may bump into at dog parks (she is completely fine in a pack environment).
I’m also keen to start some agility foundations with her as I think she would really enjoy it!

After a delay in starting our “Collie Club” day is finally up and running! 🐾

Introducing our first dog to join the pack Laika!
Laika is coming to stay for 3 weeks in September so his owners are sending him on our Collie Club days so he is well adjusted to us and our home before his holiday. 😊

What we have been focusing on with Laika so far:

- Relationship building.
- Training him around our chooks and ducks.
- Eliminating unwanted herding/targeting behaviours towards other dogs.
- Settling into our home so he’s already comfortable prior to coming to stay.
- Agility foundations!

We have more spaces available for dogs to join our Collie Club day!
We will be servicing West Auckland and parts of the North Shore!

Our Collie Club day is catered for Collie or Collie crosses and designed to provide both mental stimulation and physical exercise.
The day consists of an adventure walk in the morning followed by individual training sessions in the afternoon. Training can be upon owners request otherwise we will focus on basic obedience, agility and real world training.

Yesterday we had our first agility lesson with Molly and her mum! 😊

It was back to basics for Molly with set point exercises and small sequences. Molly has done some agility training in the past at a local club but struggled with getting over stimulated in the class environment and not properly learning the foundations needed to progress.

Molly has really good drive and loves to work so it won’t be long before we see her in the agility ring!

I am super excited to get the Auckland side of the business up and running after a full on few weeks recovering from surgery.
I will spend the next few days catching up on messages. Thanks for your patience! 😊
