🎂 16 years young! 🎂

We think the gorgeous Emma may just be one of Veterinary Hospital Group’s oldest canine clients, and she recently celebrated a very special milestone, her 16th birthday! 🥳🐾

Emma celebrated alongside her remaining sibling, sister Isla, with a very special homemade birthday cake. Even better, Mum found a recipe that was both dog AND human friendly, so nobody had to miss out. Apparently it received the seal of approval from everyone! 🎂❤️

We absolutely love seeing our patients reach these incredible milestones. At 16, Emma is looking pretty fabulous, and it’s a privilege to be part of her care and help look after her when she needs us.

A huge happy birthday to Emma and Isla from all of us at Veterinary Hospital Group. We hope there were plenty of treats, cuddles and birthday spoiling involved.

And Emma, thank you for sharing your birthday with us. You certainly don’t look 16! 🥰🐶

There’s something pretty special about seeing a dog who genuinely LOVES visiting the vet, and Poe is a great example of this!

The gorgeous Poe was more than happy to hand out the love during his visit, and Mikaela was very happy to be on the receiving end!

What happens when a group of The Dog Rescue Project dogs arrives at the clinic for their Bravecto Quantum injections? A little bit of fun, a reasonable amount of chaos, and plenty of treats! 🐶🐾

We always love seeing these gorgeous rescue dogs and helping keep them protected from fleas and ticks for a full year. Some arrived ready to make friends, some were more interested in investigating the treat supply, and others were simply there to supervise proceedings.

It’s always a lively visit when this crew comes through our doors, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re proud to support and the wonderful dogs in their care. 💙

Look how much Mars has grown! 🐾

These photos show Mars visiting our St Heliers clinic as a puppy eight months ago, and again today. He has been making himself at home since day one and has become quite the celebrity with our team! 😄

Mars’ family have done a wonderful job of setting him up for success by helping him feel comfortable at the clinic from a young age. Positive visits, gentle handling, treats and plenty of encouragement can help dogs learn that the vet is a safe place, rather than somewhere scary or stressful.

This is all part of cooperative care, helping pets become comfortable with being touched, examined and cared for. It can make future vet visits easier and more positive for everyone.

You can do this with your pet too! Talk to your local Vet Hospital Group clinic about bringing them in for a friendly visit, a few treats and some positive time with our team. We love helping our littlest newcomers, as well as our older patients, feel relaxed, confident and happy to visit us.

The gorgeous Max had surgery with our Albany team last week, and it was lovely to see him back for his post-op check-up.

His thoughtful owners surprised the team with this beautiful plant, complete with the cutest little LEGO model of Max.

Such a special gift that brought plenty of smiles to the clinic! 🐾💚

Who says we can’t have more than one Patient of the Week? When you see these two gorgeous faces, you’ll understand why we couldn’t possibly choose!

Meet Winston, a handsome German Shepherd, and Storm, a beautiful Husky x Samoyed. These two stunners are from the same family and certainly made an impression during their visit to our Silverdale clinic.

We love meeting our patients while they’re young. Early visits give puppies the chance to meet our team, explore the clinic and enjoy plenty of cuddles, treats and positive experiences.

These happy introductions can help them feel safe and comfortable at the vet, making future visits much easier as they grow into big, beautiful dogs.
