🐾 Happy Vet Nurse Week! 🐾

This week we’re celebrating our incredible vet nurses who truly do it all! 🩺🐶🐱

Our nurses care for patients from the moment they arrive until they head home. They administer medications, take bloods, place catheters, intubate, set up and monitor anaesthesia across multiple species, recover patients and monitor hospitalised animals throughout the day. They assist with surgeries and caesareans, help deliver neonates, prepare diagnostics, run blood smears, take radiographs, maintain our dental and diagnostic equipment, and perform dental scale and polishes. Our nurses are also lab technicians, surgical assistants, pharmacists, groomers, receptionists, cleaners, tech support, grief counsellors and professional comfort-givers. They take bookings, answer phones and emails, manage admissions and discharges, monitor our cattery cats, provide preventative and nutritional advice, and follow up with patients and their families.

There really isn’t much our nurses can’t do! ❤️

To our amazing nurses, thank you for your knowledge, compassion, dedication and all the little things you do every day to keep our patients safe, comfortable and loved:
• Jade
• Louise
• Liz
• Charlotte
• Jasmine
• Cas
• Jacqui
• Keshia
• Ronald
• Laura

• Brooke

We also want to acknowledge our administrator and receptionist who are a big part of the running of the clinic who are full of knowledge and compassion:

On Friday, we closed our doors for the day and brought our entire team together for something that’s just as important as the work we do in our clinics - time together. ❤️

Vet work can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be demanding, emotionally exhausting and fast-paced. Our teams spend their days caring for animals, supporting their families and looking after each other, so we think it’s important to occasionally step away from the consult rooms, surgeries and phones and simply have some fun together.

For our team building day, all three of our sister clinics - Lynfield Vets, Mog and Dog Desexing Whangārei and Mog and Dog Desexing Manukau - closed for the day so everyone could be there.

A day of rides, laughs, a little friendly competition and getting to know the people we work alongside a bit better. 🎢🤣

We’re incredibly proud of the team behind Lynfield Vets and very grateful for everything they do. ❤️🐾

Clinic Closed Friday 4th September

Our clinic will be closed this Friday, 4th September, as our amazing team takes a well-deserved day to work together, recharge and enjoy some team building.

What used to be known as kitten season has well and truly become kitten season all year round. The number of animals needing desexing has surged, and our team has been working non-stop to support animals, rescues and our local community with their pets.

It’s been an incredibly busy year, and our team continues to show up every day ready to care for your animals and support you and your families.

This Friday is about taking that teamwork outside of the clinic. We’ll be spending the day working together, taking on some challenges, having plenty of laughs and strengthening the relationships that make our team so great.

With another busy few months ahead, including multiple litters, allergy season and everything that spring brings, it’s important that our team has the opportunity to recharge together. By investing in our team and taking the time to reconnect, we can come back refreshed, connected and energised — ready to provide the very best care and support to you and your pets.

We truly appreciate the patience, understanding and ongoing support from all of our wonderful clients, rescue partners and community. Thank you for trusting us with the animals you love.

CLOSED: Friday 4th September
REOPENING: Saturday 5th September at 9am

We’ll be back on Saturday refreshed, re-energised and ready to get back to what we love — looking after your pets.

Thank you for being part of our Lynfield Vets family.

Meet Leo and Ash (currently getting fostered by our nurses)

Males
4 months

Desexed, chipped, registered, 1st vax, parasite free

The boys were found alone outside at 10 weeks and surrendered to one of our partner vets. They’ve been cared for by a vet nurse who has asked for help to home them together.

Ash the silver tabby is a curious, gentle and confident little man who loves to spend his days playing with his brother. He likes to climb high and find a nice spot to curl up on to go to sleep. He will have a little cuddle but doesn't like to stay too long, but when he does he is a purring machine. Ash was very smoochy straight from the streets and was foster by himself for 10 days until his brother Leo was caught.

Leo the dark tabby was found 10 days after his brother. He is more wary of his surroundings and takes a little more time to get used to people. It took him a week and a half to trust his humans (he went from running away from people to sitting and waiting patiently for a scratch on the head) to wanting to sit on your lap. Leo is more cuddly than Ash but Leo brings out the confidence in him.

The boys are great with kids and other cats, they could adjust to a chill and cat friendly dog.

To meet them please message us. Note that adequate completion of an adoption questionnaire and a fee of $200 for both boys applies.

Contact us if you are interested in adopting these two wonderful boys :)
