At Vets North, we know vet visits can feel a little overwhelming for some pets. That’s why we focus on creating a calmer, more positive experience for both pets and their people.
When pets feel relaxed and safe, appointments are easier for everyone — including you, your pet, and our team.

If your pet gets anxious about visiting the vet, just let us know when booking your appointment. We’re always happy to help tailor the visit to make it as stress-free as possible.

What a week it’s been for our Equine team! ☀️

An early morning lineup before another busy day on the road! The trucks are loaded, the coffee is flowing, and our vets are off to care for all our wonderful equine friends 🚚💨

From routine visits to urgent callouts, no two days are ever the same, and we’re incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team always ready to go above and beyond for our clients and their horses🐴

Last month we said a very special farewell to Dr Mark Anderson as he officially hung up his overalls and stepped into retirement.

Mark has been part of the Helensville community for over 40 years – a familiar, trusted face to generations of farmers, families, and their animals. From his early days with Kaipara Veterinary Services, through Helensville Veterinary Services, and into what we now know as Vets North, Mark has been there through it all.

Originally from the UK, Mark made Helensville home as a teenager before going on to study veterinary science at Massey University, graduating with both a Bachelor and Master’s degree. His passion for large animal work – especially sheep and beef farming – alongside his ability to turn his hand to just about anything, made him a true “old school” vet in the very best sense of the word.

But Mark’s impact goes far beyond the clinic. A long serving member of the Helensville Volunteer Fire Brigade and a past Chairman of the local primary school board, he has been deeply woven into the fabric of this community.

To many, both clients and colleagues, Mark isn’t just a vet, he has been a steady hand in tough moments, a voice of calm, and someone who genuinely cares about both people and their animals.

We will miss him dearly in the day to day but we’re lucky that retirement doesn’t mean goodbye, at least not when you live in Helensville and we know how you like your coffee.

Thank you, Mark, for your decades of dedication, knowledge, and heart. You’ve left an incredible legacy here, and we wish you all the very best for this next chapter.
