🚧 ROAD WORKS – CLINIC ACCESS UPDATE 🚧

Our entrance from Hobsonville Road onto Cyril Crescent is currently blocked due to road works, which are expected to be in place for at least 3 weeks.

🐾 The good news is that we are still OPEN as usual! You can still drive right up to the clinic and use our parking — you’ll just need to access Cyril Crescent from the other end.

📍 If you’re coming from Hobsonville Road, the easiest route is:
- Turn down Luckens Road
- Turn onto Moire Road
- Head up Elizabeth Drive
- This will connect you to the back of Cyril Crescent, giving you access to the clinic.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or disruption this may cause. Unfortunately, the road works are completely out of our control, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we receive any further information.

🌈 Deceased Cat Found – Trig Road Motorway Off-ramp 🌈

Sadly, a female tabby and white cat was found after being hit by a car on the Trig Road motorway off-ramp (photo in comments).

A lovely member of the public kindly brought her into our clinic so we could check for identification. Sadly, she had no collar or microchip and had already crossed the rainbow bridge. 💔 She also had a distinctive short tail.

⚠️ Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) update- What to do if you find a sick or injured bird

A positive case of avian influenza (H5N1) has recently been confirmed in a seabird in Wellington.

Avian influenza is a highly contagious virus that primarily affects wild birds and poultry. While the risk to the general public and pets is currently considered low, it can spread easily between birds and has the potential to cause serious illness and death in affected species.

The good news is that there is currently no evidence of transmission between wild birds in New Zealand, no reports of mass bird deaths, and no detection in poultry. However it is important to stay vigilant.

If you find a sick, injured, or dead bird, please do not touch or handle it. Instead, report it immediately to the Ministry for Primary Industries by calling 0800 80 99 66.

Keeping yourself, your pets, and our native wildlife safe is everyone's responsibility. Thank you for helping protect New Zealand's birds. 🐦💙

🍝💔 Still Waiting... Our Paw-sta Boys Need You! 💔🍝

Miss Penne has found her forever home, but her brothers Macaroni and Alfredo are still waiting. 🥺

These sweet 8-month-old tabby boys were rescued as stray kittens and have come such a long way in foster care. They may be a little shy at first, but with patience and love, they'll make wonderful companions.

They are both desexed, microchipped and ready for their forever homes

🍝💔 Still Waiting... Meet Our Paw-sta Boys 💔🍝

Back on 16th May, we introduced Macaroni and Alfredo and Miss Penne and hoped they would quickly find their forever families. Miss Penne has gone to a lovely home but sadly, these handsome boys are still waiting for someone to give them the home they deserve. 🥺

🐱 Macaroni – Brown tabby & white boy
🐱 Alfredo – Light grey tabby & white boy

These sweet brothers were originally found as stray kittens with their sister on the North Shore and have been lovingly fostered by one of our wonderful student vet nurses and are now 8 months old already!

When they first came into care, they were unsure of humans and needed time, patience, and understanding to learn that people could be trusted. They have come such a long way since then and continue to grow in confidence every day.

Both boys are desexed, microchipped, and ready to move into their forever homes. They would suit patient adopters who are willing to give them a little time to settle in and continue building their trust ❤️

🍝 Meet our adorable Paw-sta Kitties 🍝

Macaroni, Alfredo, and Penne are officially on the hunt for their forever homes 🐾❤️

These three gorgeous former North Shore strays have been fostered by one of our lovely student vet nurses, where they’ve spent the last few months learning that humans aren’t so scary after all. While they took a little time to build trust, they’ve come such a long way and are now thriving in foster care 🥹

🐱 Macaroni – Brown tabby & white boy (pasta elbow in tail)
🐱 Alfredo – Light grey tabby & white boy
🐱 Penne – Tabby girl

They are approximately 6–7 months old, all desexed, microchipped, and ready to settle into loving forever homes.

Each of these sweet kitties has their own little personality, and watching them grow in confidence has been incredibly rewarding. They’ll need patient, caring homes that will continue helping them blossom- and in return, you’ll gain some very special companions ❤️
