Meet Gazo!
Poor Gazo came to us after having a painful wound on his bottom for a couple of months. For that whole time, the wound had kept oozing a steady stream of pus. A couple of courses of antibiotics had failed to fix the problem. The hole in his skin was only about 2 mm wide, but as soon as we saw it, we could see that we had to investigate further.
Gazo was put under general anaesthesia so that our vet could explore the wound. As soon the hole in the skin was enlarged, we could see the tell tale signs of a foreign body - numerous tracts of scar tissue heading in all different directions. After giving the wound a thorough flush with saline, and following a particularly deep pocket, look what we pulled out....
It's a chip off of another cat's tooth!
Now that the foreign body is removed we expect Gazo to make a full recovery!
