Isn't it funny how every new year we say this one is going to betterāblah blah blah
Well, it's been a rough first half of the year with EVERY single dog coming in either having severe medical and/or behavioural issues! It's draining us mentally, physically and financially!
We currently have the following dogs in our care. As we get them over the line with medical or behavioural issues, we will then start to advertise them on our website. A quick blurb on each below and we will only accept expressions of interest if indicated as so! If not we won't divulge any further information until we feel the time is right.
Loki Bear:
Loki Bear came to us after he was found wandering the street and a good Samaritan took him in. He has some trust issues and quirky behaviours. He's earned the nickname Mr Demandy Pants as his front end doesn't match his back end. The front can look aggressive while the back end is likeāwe are friends! True enough yep it's just his way of saying hey I want your attention.
Loki Bear will need someone who is confident with the breed and have the patience to continue training as his foster Mum has done an amazing job with him. We still need to assess him with other dogs. NO SMALL DOGS, NO CATS, NO KIDS UNDER 10YRS.
Expressions of interest welcome.
Hollie:
Hollie is a typical sassy female and a real sweetie. She loves human company and bonds quickly to people she trusts. This poor girl has had it rough. She had a spay/abort which indicated 14 pups! She also had cherry eye in both eyes and it was so severe she needed two lots of surgery!
She is now recovering from the second bout of surgery and is ready to find a new home.
NO SMALL DOGS, NO CATS, NO KIDS UNDER 10YRS.
Expressions of interest welcome.
Irie:
Irie is another sassy female and again loves her people although she takes a bit longer to bond. This poor sweetheart went for a regular spay and unfortunately had two bleeds. The vet had to pretty much remove her insides to get to the bleed and control it. Nothing an emergency in the middle of a routine surgery! She also had entropion on one eye so that was corrected at the same time!
Irie is now recovering and is looking forward to a new home soon. We will advertise her when she is fully back to her happy bouncy self.
Sissy:
Sissy and C'zyn came in together but we have chosen to sperate them. Sissy is a lovely girl and gets on well with other dogs her own size. It takes her a while to trust new people but once she does you are friends for life! She is currently at K9 Heaven who are fostering her for us and helping her to socialise.
NO SMALL DOGS, NO CATS, NO KIDS UNDER 10YRS.
Expressions of interest welcome.
C'zyn:
C'zyn lived with Sissy (who had been socialised early on) but sadly C'zyn hadn't and he has only known his backyard, short quiet walks and his family. While there is no human aggression he gets stressed and upset when away from his home. We have chosen for him to return to his owner and are working with them to help build his confidence and get used to the busy world we live in. Only then will we consider a new family for him. Anyone who is interested would need to have experience with big dogs, live in a quiet area and be willing to meet him several times to gain his trust before any trial adoption.
We will advertise him when he has built a bit more confidence.
Jess:
Pretty wee Jess was picked up yesterday from the Thames pound. She was a wandering unclaimed stray who we think has had several litters.
She is very sweet and social but does not like German Shepherds! So, we do need an urgent Auckland based foster for her with either a male dog or no other dogs.
NO SMALL DOGS, NO CATS, NO KIDS UNDER 10YRS.
Expressions of interest welcome.
