We're betting a few pets were pretty happy to have dinner an hour earlier this week ๐ Hi, daylight saving โ we're definitely well into spring! ๐ธ
And it's not just the clocks; what happens on farms and in the wild changes with the seasons too.
Because we source from wild animals, availability doesn't always follow a neat production schedule. Weather, breeding cycles, hunter access and even the value of a possum's winter coat can influence what's around at different times of year.
The animals themselves are seasonal, too. Wild possums are opportunistic omnivores, eating mostly plant material and switching up their menu depending on whatโs available. That appetite is also why they have such an impact on our native forests, competing with native wildlife for food and preying on our fauna. Possum as pet food puts a serious pest to wildly good use. ๐ฟ
That's one reason we're big on variety. Feeding a range of prey sources gives your pet different nutritional profiles, textures and flavours โ and means they're less reliant on one seasonal favourite.
