Very hard decision and Hoot will only go to the best of homes.

TR Horizon– Proven & Competitive 2★ Eventer | Quality, Eye-Catching Type
Hoot is a striking 16.2hh, 10-year-old liver chestnut gelding with a strong competition record from 95cm through to 2★. He is an established, genuine performer with the experience and ability to continue progressing with his next rider.
He has an impressive and consistent record, including:
Winner – Taupō 95cm 3-Day Event (2022)
Winner – Puhinui 1★ 3-Day Event (2022)
Multiple additional 1★ wins and placings
Consistent 2★ placings, including:
3rd CCI2★ – Springbush HT (Feb 2025)
5th CCN2★ – Kihikihi (Apr 2025)
6th CCN2★ – Brookby (Feb 2025)
6th CCN2★ – Taupō (May 2025)
Recently, after rider took a short break from eventing, Hoot stepped back out at Northland 1★, producing a personal best dressage score of 73.25% and a double clear jumping performance, highlighting his quality, rideability, and consistency across all three phases.
Hoot is an athletic Thoroughbred with a naturally balanced canter. He offers excellent adjustability, making him a very rideable option for a competent rider.
He is a careful, scopey showjumper with experience to 1.20m, naturally tidy and rarely touching a rail.
On the ground, Hoot is a pleasure to have around. He has benefited from extensive horsemanship and groundwork, including liberty work and obstacle training, and is intelligent, well handled, and full of personality.
Hoot is best suited to a competent and confident rider looking for a competitive partner at 1–2★ level Eventing or could also suit SJ. He can be a touch sensitive in busy warm-up environments but is genuine, honest, and settles well into his work.
This is a much-loved horse, and his sale is not taken lightly. He will only be sold to a knowledgeable and caring home where his ability and character will be appreciated.

Pukekohe Christmas Cracker 🎄

Willow jumped a great round in the 1.20 - love this brave little mare and the rides she gives me.

Hoot and I, on the other hand, parted ways in dramatic fashion … one of those moments 😅 Very grateful that we both walked away relatively unscathed.

Both horses are now well and truly due a few weeks of Christmas break before we switch back into training mode. Looking ahead to the new year, fresh plans, and getting back out Eventing once the season rolls around again.

Grateful, a little sore, but excited for the 2026 summer season 🩵 Merry Christmas to all 🎄 📸

What a weekend at Brookby SJ for the oranges…a pearler but certainly a hot one 🥵 - and a perfect reminder of why Stress Paste is always part of our show kit.

With the heat, warm-ups, wait between classes and atmosphere, keeping horses comfortable and focused is so important. Stress Paste is my go-to for exactly that - it helps maintain hydration, soothes and supports the gut, and keeps Willow ( and Hoot ) feeling well and ready do the best they can when their turn in the ring arrives 🌞

Willow delivered one of our best rounds yet in the 1.25m class, feeling confident, rideable, and helping the boss in every way that she could.
