We have exciting news at Wild Dingo Wellness! 🐾
As you may already know, my original background is biomedical engineering. Also recently I was accepted to do Masters of Medical Engineering at the University of Auckland. Medical data a**lysis, musculoskeletal health, and modeling are some of the areas of my interest. Working with quantitative data is so important. Qualitative data (example: palpation and visual gait a**lysis) is great, but without the quantitative data, we are missing important information!
The exciting news is our stance a**lyzer has arrived! 🌟
This technology measures weight distribution across all four paws, showing how much weight your dog is placing on each limb. It's particularly valuable for detecting subtle compensation patterns that might not be visible to the eye – like when a dog shifts weight away from a painful joint or hasn't fully recovered strength after an injury.
During gait a**lysis, the stance a**lyzer helps to:
✅️Identify uneven weight bearing between limbs
✅️Track progress during rehabilitation with objective measurements
✅️Detect early signs of discomfort before they become obvious
✅️Create more targeted treatment plans based on real data
Here's something important: We can also assess healthy dogs to establish their baseline weight distribution. Having this data on file means if your dog develops lameness, injury, or age-related changes down the track, we can compare it to their normal pattern and detect even subtle shifts early. It's like having a reference point for your dog's individual "normal" – because every dog distributes their weight slightly differently.
The quantitative data pairs really well with visual gait assessment and hands-on evaluation to give the complete picture of how your dog is moving and where they might need support.
Whether your dog is currently healthy or recovering from injury, managing arthritis, or showing changes in their movement, this is another tool we can use to understand what's happening and measure their progress over time.
This is a non-invasive, diagnostic tool provides objective data for weight bearing, stability and center of gravity for your dog. A**lysis report will be provided for you dog ot a cat, that you can share with your vet.
We will be improving further in our quantitative way of looking at musculoskeletal health. More objective data techniques will be introduced!
I put the link to YouTube video about Stance A**lyser capabilities, so you can see what it can do. The link is in the comments 😀
