Our mission is to ensure they receive a safe and loving environment along with the attention and respect they deserve. Folley Farm is a nonprofit sanctuary based in south Auckland, that cares for over 100 animals, including cats, sheep, goats, ponies, pigs, ducks, and cows. The sanctuary was founded by Paula Wolley and Steve Matthews, who have a passion and dedication for rescuing, rehabilitating,

and rehoming animals in need. The sanctuary relies on donations, volunteers, and supporters to provide food, shelter, medical care, and enrichment for the animals. The sanctuary also advocates for animal welfare and educates the public about the treatment and care of animals. The Sanctuary has been operating since 2018 and has faced many challenges and difficulties over the years, such as dealing with multiple surgeries, infections, kidney failures, and cancers among the animals. The sanctuary has also witnessed many miracles of healing and happiness, such as Lucky the cat who survived a life-threatening condition and received spicialised surgery so that he now lives a happy normal cat life. The sanctuary has given its heart, voice, and all to souls that cannot fight against the cruelty, violence, and injustice inflicted upon them. 🌸 Mother and her beautiful babies have been released, and I’m so happy to say they are all doing wonderfully. ❤️

She has been such an amazing mummy, and watching her care for these little ones has been absolutely precious. I don’t normally intervene with wildlife — they are usually best left to nature — but these babies arrived so early in the season, when the weather was bitterly cold, that I just couldn’t turn my back on them. They were so tiny and vulnerable, and sometimes you simply have to give nature a helping hand. 🥹❤️

They have since discovered our pond and now come back twice a day for a little food, looking happy, healthy and completely at home. Knowing they are safe and thriving makes every bit of worry worthwhile. 🥰

And for those wondering about the cats… no, they don’t bother them! 😂 If they get a little too close, the roosters are very quick to step in and tell them off. 🐓 In fact, my cats are absolutely terrified of my roosters — they know better than to mess with the boys! 😂❤️

In Loving Memory of Our Beautiful Mouse ❤️

Three months ago, a beautiful little cat wandered into our work yard. She was hungry and frightened, but my sister saw something special in her and gave her the time, patience and love she needed.

We named her Mouse.

She quickly blossomed, moving into our office and winning everyone’s hearts — even the hard-core cat haters! She was chatty, affectionate and always seemed to know when someone needed her.

Mouse shared an especially special bond with my sister. Every workday, she sat on her desk, keeping her company and watching over her. On weekends, she happily looked after the boys, becoming a cherished part of our work family.

Only two weeks ago, Mouse had a full health check. We discovered a thyroid issue and were arranging treatment. We thought we had time.

Sadly, we didn’t.

Mouse suddenly lost the use of her back legs. My sister immediately rushed her to VSA, but sadly, our worst fears were confirmed. Mouse had suffered a devastating and extremely painful blood clot from her heart to her back legs. She was unlikely to walk again and might not survive the night.

We knew saying goodbye was the kindest thing we could do to spare her further suffering, but that never makes it easier. My sister loved Mouse so much, and for her to have say goodbye to her little companion was heartbreaking.

Mouse was only with us for three months, but she became such a huge part of our lives. Her little voice, sitting on my sister’s desk, will never be forgotten.

I truly believe animals find us for a reason. Mouse may have needed us, but perhaps we needed her too. Those three months were filled with love, safety and happiness.

When she needed us most, my sister was there. She made sure Mouse wasn’t alone, didn’t suffer and was surrounded by love.

Run free now, beautiful Mouse. ❤️

No more pain. No more fear. Just peace.

You left paw prints on all our hearts that will never fade.

You were loved, deeply missed and will never be forgotten. 🐾❤️

🐾Miss Kenzie following me around while I feed the cats. I always feed them before vacuum cleaning, letting them eat in peace before I terrorise them with the vacuum cleaner, maybe except for Kenzie who sits quietly and waits for me to finish. 😻
