Winter Pet Care: Keeping Pets Safe, Warm and Seen
By Pet Patch nz
Winter brings colder temperatures, wet weather and shorter days, which can all affect our pets’ comfort, routine and safety. As the evenings get darker earlier, many walks and outdoor play times happen in low light, making visibility especially important for dogs and their owners. LED collars, clip-on lights and other light-up accessories are a simple but effective way to help pets stay visible on evening walks, near roads, or during early morning outings. Glow-in-the-dark toys are also a great winter option, adding fun to after-dark play while helping owners keep track of their dogs more easily.
Winter is also the perfect time to focus on warmth and comfort. Older pets, small breeds, short-haired dogs and small animals can feel the cold more than others, so cosy bedding, warm resting spots and dry shelter can make a big difference. Regular grooming is still important too, helping to keep coats healthy and paws clean after wet or muddy walks.
At Pet Patch, we love helping local pet owners keep their pets safe, comfortable and happy all winter long and have many products in store to help with this!
