😻 Maine C**n lovers, we need to talk about THAT coat! 🐾💛

Just look at Apollo! This gorgeous boy joined Lewis for his wash, blow-dry and brush-out, and how beautiful does he look? 😍

All that fluffy fur is stunning, but it can also mean extra maintenance. Regular grooming helps keep knots and mats under control, removes loose fur and keeps that magnificent coat looking its best.

As the weather warms up, it’s a great time to give your cat’s coat a little extra attention. 🐱☀️

Tell us in the comments… who else has a fluffy cat who leaves fur EVERYWHERE? 😂👇

Give Apollo some love in the comments! ❤️

🐾 BREED OF THE WEEK — MINIATURE SCHNAUZER 🐾

That beard. Those eyebrows. That serious little face. 😂

The Miniature Schnauzer originated in Germany and was developed as a small farm dog, especially for catching rats and other vermin.

They’re known for being smart, lively, affectionate and full of personality. They usually love being involved in everything their family is doing — and yes, many of them also like to keep everyone informed about what’s happening outside. 😂

Their traditional coat is double-coated, with a wiry outer coat and softer undercoat. Show coats are often maintained by hand stripping, while most pet Schnauzers are clipped for easier upkeep.

And that famous beard? It definitely adds character… while also collecting water, food and half the garden. 😄

A few quick facts:
🐾 Smallest of the three Schnauzer breeds
🐾 Originally bred as working farm dogs
🐾 Very clever and quick to learn
🐾 Known for salt-and-pepper, black-and-silver and black coats
🐾 Big personality packed into a small body

Schnauzer owners — does yours have the beard, the attitude, or both? 😂👇

🐾 PETS OF THE WEEK — JULIET & JUNIOR! 🐾

A big congratulations to Juliet and Junior, our gorgeous Pets of the Week at Angels Grooming Manukau. 💛

These two are a little shy at first, but once they settle in, they are just the sweetest little pair.

Quiet, gentle and very cute — they definitely won us over.

Well done, Juliet and Junior! You were lovely to have in the salon and very deserving of Pet of the Week. 🥰

CELEBRITY PET OF THE WEEK — SERENA WILLIAMS, OLYMPIA & CHIP

This week, the spotlight is on Serena Williams, her daughter Olympia Ohanian, and their tiny but very well-travelled Yorkshire Terrier, Chip.

His full name is actually Christopher “Chip” Rafael Nadal — yes, really. Serena picked him up in New York during the 2012 US Open period, and he went on to become a regular little travel companion, even appearing in her player’s box at tournaments. Serena has said he used to wear a special “champion Chip” tie for finals.

Chip has also become part of Olympia’s everyday life. One of Olympia’s regular responsibilities has been feeding Chip, and the two have grown up around each other.

And like many family dogs, Chip has clearly become much more than just a pet. Serena has spoken about how much he means to her, and he still appears in family moments and travels with them.

Our favourite bit? For all the tennis fame and glamour, Chip still sounds like a very normal dog at home — Serena says he loves food, begs shamelessly, and is basically the household “mop” whenever something drops in the kitchen.

Like this post if your dog is also convinced every dropped crumb belongs to them.

CAT OWNERS — THIS ONE’S FOR YOU. 🐱

Cats need grooming too, and if your cat’s coat is starting to get knotty, greasy, fluffy, matted or just harder to manage, now is a really good time to get on top of it before summer.

At Angels Grooming Manukau, we offer professional cat grooming including:

• Wash and blow-dries
• De-shedding
• Mat removal
• Lion trims
• Coat maintenance
• Grooming for long-haired and short-haired cats

We have limited cat grooming appointments available from 9am–5pm on Saturday 14 November and Tuesday 29 December.

These spaces are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

So if you’ve been thinking, “I really need to get the cat booked in” — this is your reminder to do it now rather than leaving it until the coat becomes harder to manage.

New cat clients are very welcome.

We also have Afterpay available, and while you’re in store, ask us about the Angels Care Club.
