So the interview went well! And thankfully my Tourette’s was having a calm day, so I could actually get my words across 🤗☺️

As expected, I had a migraine afterwards as the amount of excitement, nerves and stress was a lot 😄

But updating you all now on how it went....

So the interview was for the show called Paddy Gower Has Issues, and they wanted to interview me about my Tourette’s story. They also wanted to see the birds. The crew was awesome and super understanding, and Karen O’Leary interviewed me! ❤️

It will be live to watch on the 15th of September at 7:30pm on Three (or if you miss it, you can watch it on TVNZ+ afterwards).

Such an awesome opportunity!! 🤗 I really enjoyed it, and I hope it gets the government to realize that Tourette’s does impact some individuals’ everyday lives. It’s not just swearing or making funny noises. ❤️

Well, I’m just making this post while waiting for the news people to turn up… (Yep, I’m gonna be on the news AND so are my birds! 😂🐦🤩)

It’s for the cause of Tourette’s getting recognised as a disability in New Zealand, for those whose Tourette’s genuinely impacts their everyday life❤️

So I’m getting interviewed today, and they also wanted to see my birds! 🐦🥰

Ahhhhh 🙃🤩 I’m excited but also really nervous, as you can imagine! 🫣😂

I honestly can’t believe this is happening! ❤️

Well, it’s a massive sort out day today, as I need to cut down on the Budgies now...

This is a massive job, as lots of people think it’s just looking at them and making a decision.

But it’s not so simple. I have pedigree show budgies that all have identification bands, I’m also a genetics rare budgie breeder, so it’s working through the pedigree breeding records, blood lines, age, and what qualities they have😉...

Try doing that over 300 times 🙈😂🫣 Well, that’s my guess on how many I have currently... As due to my health, I put the sort through on hold till I got better (but, well, that didn’t happen 🙃), so trying to navigate and accept life is different now.

So I have to move on and let go of my old self in that way. I’m not the same person I was 2 years ago (which is a hard thing to come to terms with, as I do try to think, oh, I still can push myself like I used to... but I really can’t😶).

It’s not the end of my dreams💖 and the work I have done and achieved. It’s just downsizing to a manageable level for who I am now.

I still will be breeding budgies, working in genetics and rares and the show birds... just not as intensely as I was before.

Anyway, I didn’t get to do my sort out for 2 seasons (so 2 seasons' worth of baby budgies I have to work out as well). So a big job

So I’m just going to slowly start. Might take me a month, but that’s okay 🙃 I'll see how much I'll get down today😄

Gotta love the pastels!!🤗💖 I'm happy I'm getting good numbers in theses now!
With so far clean wings and good depth in body colour with some, which will help with my breeding program😁

So Ollie's New home fell through so hes still looking for a forever home🥺

Please message me if you're interested, in what experience you have had with parrots and
What kind of home could you provide him ?

He Ideally needs to be an inside bird and pet only...not for breeding

Due to his history he need lots of patience from his new owners and understanding about boundaries... he will be abit stand offish due to his past neglect....but once he has bonded with you he is a sweet heart.....if you show him safety, love, care and understanding his boundaries and not threaten him... he is a sweet heart once he bonds with you, he just got shown early on that not all people he can trust😔

He means alot to me so he is not going to just any home.. so please understand I'm wanting the best possible home him so won't make a decision straight away💖

Hi everyone...Thankyou so much for all interest in Ollie and Rio🥹 they have found beautiful loving homes now and i have peace knowing they are going to the perfect forever home💖

( I also got messages from people saying how awesome having chatto creek aviaries and the knowledge i have( thank you for all your guys support💖💖... But DON'T worry Chatto Creek Aviaries isn't shutting down) just having to downsize on some birds.

Still hopefully get to keep some of my parrots and still have my show budgies and my colour projects and all the rares I'm working on💖i just got to cut down on numbers.

Possibly a few other parrots might be advertised but again these are ones that won't just go to anyone...( i hope it doesn't go down to that decision as theses ones are one's i hand reared myself from a baby🥺.

Well… this is a very sad day 🥺😢

I’ve known for many months that I would eventually have to make this post, but honestly, it has been too painful to actually do it. 💔

As some know my life flipped upside down for me, and I’m having to learn how to navigate this new life. Because I’m no longer able to work, I can no longer afford to properly provide for all of the birds i have, and that means I have to make the heartbreaking decision to find new homes for some of my parrots😰

These birds mean so much to me. They aren’t just pets they are abit like family. I have seen there journey( i saw them when they were so frightened because they were not looked after and neglected and then getting to see them slowly trust me and bond with me💖

Both of these boys have had difficult beginnings. They were rescues who experienced neglect, so finding them the right home is extremely important to me. They will not be going to just anyone

I am looking for approved, forever homes with people who genuinely understand parrots and are committed to giving them the love, care, patience they deserve❤️

This is an incredibly difficult decision for me, so please understand that I will be very careful about who they go to. My priority is finding them homes where they will be loved and cared for.

If you think you may be the right home for one of these boys, please message me privately with some information about yourself, your experience with parrots, and the home you can offer them.

(NOTE ) I may not get back to you straight away as this is a very hard post to make and I'm very emotional writing this🥺, so please understand.

Chicken decided to have a bath in -2 degree day 🙈, what a silly girl... ( don't worry she was dry in an hour...other wise she was going to get blow dried 😄 i don't think she would of been happy if i did that haha)😅

Gotta love the Goldenfaces! 🤗💛

This fella is currently going through his molt!

One of my favourite things about Goldenfaces is how much they brighten up during their molt. It's always so exciting watching their beautiful golden colour become more vibrant as each new feather comes through! 🤗
