⚠️🔽 Long time no update on this page, unfortunately not a happy one.
I received a PM with questions regarding the health and X-ray results of Dutch (Vihaan Aditi Demons Favorite Reaper) and Spicy (Vihaan Aditi Ghost With An Ego). This person thought I was deliberately keeping their health a secret, but that is not the case.
These are dogs from our litter (December 30th, 2023) out of Maze (Hardworkpaysoff A Milky Miltank: A Victory Game Of The Maze Runner x Templehall Cymru) and Kovu (Gjerulff Dynamic Loboc River: Welshriverdee Rayder x Gjerulff A Bonus Kiss For Blitzen).
As many already know, at the beginning of February we went for X-rays with our youngsters, and the results are very unfortunate.
Dutch has been diagnosed with bilateral OCD, and Spicy with LTV grade 3. After the initial shock, we went into research mode and spoke to many many many people, vets, and specialists. I can't thank them enough for answering all of my questions! 👏💐
They both show no symptoms whatsoever. Dutch has never limped a day in his life, and we wouldn’t have known Spicy had LTV if we hadn’t specifically examined for it.

But it doesn’t end there. We also suspect Spicy may have an autoimmune disease (vitiligo), but to confirm this we still need to go through a few more months of examinations, or a painful biopsy. Of course, when I doesn't harm her or cause her discomfort we will choose the long road to clarification.
Dutch and Atari (Vihaan Aditi King of Hell) both have a retractile (elastic) testicle. In Atari’s case, it recently became painful and he will be castrated within a couple of weeks.
And when you thought I was done, I wasn’t. Last but not least, Nos (Vihaan Aditi Demonic Chief Of Staff) has OCD in his right shoulder and does show symptoms of limping.
Luckily, there is also some good news: Atari and Vitani (Vihaan Aditi Queen of Hell) have both been X-rayed and received the best possible results.
I strongly believe in transparency. All these results can be found in the database, on our website, and on our socials, and everyone is of course free to ask about them. 🙌📬
I do not feel guilty, because Maze and Kovu are completely free of all genetic diseases and are both fully clear on X-rays. I do not blame the stud dog or his owner in any way, I dislike it when people put all the blame on the stud dog. His owner has never been anything but wonderful and kind!
We already had extremely bad luck with this litter at birth due to herpes. This had a huge impact on my mental health, and I did feel very guilty towards Maze and her puppies. Because of that, I always strongly doubted whether I would ever breed Spicy.
Well, all of the above has taken away that doubt. It hurts my heart because I would like ten more duplicates of Maze or Spicy, but that's not going to happen. None of these dogs will be bred (again). As soon as I received the results, I made appointments for Maze and Spicy to be spayed, which will happen in June. Atari will also be castrated for health reasons. Additionally, Biem (Hardworkpaysoff I Choose U Pikachu), the brother of our Maze, has also been removed from the breeding program and has been castrated.
Dutch will not be castrated, as the hormones may have a positive effect in keeping him symptom-free. He will also not undergo surgery for his OCD, all in consultation with and on the advice of specialists, of course. We have started him on supportive supplements, and he will visit Ellen Martens every three months.
We plan to X-ray them again next year to monitor how things develop! Both of them will not become agility dogs despite Spicy is allowed to. They do go on daily (off leash) walks between five and eight kilometers and come along with long distance hikes, they can live their life to the fullest and be as much speed and idiots as they want. 🥳
