Dat ben ik over een aantal jaar!
She could have stayed at home. Watching days turn into nights, and life slowly turn into memories. She could have said, “It’s too late for me.” But instead — she gets into the saddle.
Her hands are not as strong as they used to be. Her step is slower. But her heart… still moves her forward.
Every wrinkle on her face is a road. Every year — another mile behind her. And even now, she doesn’t stop. Because for her, movement is life.
Beside her is her horse. Not just an animal — a companion who understands her without words. He walks carefully, as if he knows: on his back is not just a rider, but a whole story.
And one more small companion — her dog. Loyal, silent, always there. He doesn’t ask where they’re going. It’s enough for him to know they are together.
They are not in a hurry. No deadlines. No “later.” Only now — this path, this wind, this moment.
People look at her and think, “Why?”
But she is simply living.
Because true freedom is not in youth. It’s in the choice not to stop. Even when the body asks for rest.
She proves nothing to the world. She reminds it.
That life doesn’t end with age.
That dreams don’t have an expiration date.
That the road is always open — as long as you are willing to take a step.
And as her horse keeps moving forward,
as her dog stays close,
she smiles.
Because she knows: she is still on her journey.
