This sweet girl enjoyed a PEMF treatment today.
She suffered a spinal stroke in the past. Thankfully, she recovered from the initial event, but unfortunately it left behind permanent nerve damage. As a result, the way she moves has changed. To stay mobile, she compensates with other muscles and joints. Over time, this creates extra tension and stiffness throughout her body, making it harder for her to fully stretch.
The best part?
Right after her treatment, she gave us a beautiful, relaxed full-body stretch and was already moving more freely and comfortably. Moments like these make my day!
Next week we'll repeat the treatment to continue supporting her body, helping her stay as comfortable and mobile as possible in her daily life.
How can PEMF help dogs with residual effects after a spinal stroke?
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy) supports the body's natural processes by stimulating circulation and cellular activity. This may help reduce muscle tension and stiffness while supporting the body's natural healing response. Although PEMF cannot reverse nerve damage caused by a spinal stroke, it can be a valuable complementary therapy to improve comfort, mobility, flexibility, and overall quality of life.
Every step that becomes a little easier is a victory.
