Gerda’s Honden Service is turning 5! 🐾🎂

We want to celebrate this special milestone with YOU — with a real doggy birthday party! 🐶🎈

Over the past five years, you’ve given us so many wonderful experiences, memories and moments of joy. We’re incredibly grateful for all of you, and what better way to give something back than by throwing a big birthday celebration? 🎉

YOU ARE INVITED — with your dog, your family, your friends, or even on your own! Everyone is welcome. We’d love to see our current clients, former clients, people who are curious about what we do, and of course… anyone who simply loves dogs and can’t resist some cuddles! 💕

There will be interactive activities both indoors and outdoors, so there will be plenty to do and enjoy throughout the day.

Having a little throwback about our summer of 2026 ☀️
Besides many heatwaves we always found place for having fun- sometimes slower or shorter. But we are super proud of our team who went through with us the whole summer! 🥰

We’ve started a new collaboration with Platinum from Germany, who make incredibly high-quality dog food! 🐾

The texture is different from most similar products, and the smell is so good that we’d honestly eat it ourselves (no joke — it has actually happened 😜).

Starting this week, we’ll be giving a bag to all of our clients to try, and we’re really looking forward to hearing your feedback! 🐶❤️

We had the first swimming lesson of this summer at the Zeewolde hondenstrand! 🐾🌊

Super cute and enthusiastic dogs joined us — some learned to swim for the very first time today and discovered how much fun it is, while others have been regulars, attending every year since the beginning!

Great company, a lovely atmosphere, and perfect weather ☀️

Why is swimming so good for dogs?

* low impact on joints and muscles
* builds confidence
* great for prevention and rehabilitation
* shared fun with the owner

So much cuteness around Gerda’s Honden Service! 🐾

We’ve expanded our services to include summer cat- and bunny-sitting while the dogs are off on their holidays 🐱🐰
But there are always enough pups staying with us to enjoy the company of their furry friends!

In a week, it’s our turn to take a little summer break, but until then we’re enjoying the fresh air and each other! ☀️

💛 TIFFANY 💛

This big, sweet, and calm teddy bear is currently staying with a foster family in Almere Poort, hoping someone will fall in love with her. 🐻❤️

Right now, I’m working with her to help her enjoy car rides and understand that it can actually be fun! Check out the video in the comment to see how amazing she did on our fist training session!

She is extremely attached and loves being close to people, which also means she finds being alone a bit difficult—but we’re working on that too!

Tiffany is 8 years old. She arrived in the Netherlands from Macedonia 3 years ago and has been searching for her perfect match ever since.

She doesn’t need long walks and gets tired quite quickly, though she still has her playful spark sometimes. She has no health issues and absolutely loves tasty treats (salmon snacks and lamb cubes are her favorites—she’d happily take a whole bucket! 😄).

If you’re looking for a big, cuddly, easygoing companion to share a home with relaxed life, this is your chance to meet her!

Goodbye June ☀️ This month was a mix! We had everything from 13°C to 38°C 🥵, we sent a big batch of donations to shelter dogs in need 📦, we kicked off our World Cup game ⚽️, and lots of doggies took their summer break 🏝️. And through it all, the good vibes never stopped for a second! 🎡

The donations have been successfully delivered to the Papamaci Árvái /Öregkutyák shelter in Hungary!
We hope we could contribute a little to the well-being of the dogs and bring them some joy as well.

A big thank you to Europe’s (or maybe the world’s) best delivery, Pantomas, for the fast handover! 🚛

We wish all the dogs a speedy adoption into loving homes! 🐾

Once again, we would like to express our huge thanks to our supporters for their quick reaction and for always being there when needed 🙏🏻🥰

If you have any dog-related equipment, food, or supplies that you no longer need and would like to donate, please send them to us! There is always a shelter where they are needed the most. 📦

The donations will be heading to Hungary tomorrow 🚛

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the shipping costs 🥰🙏🏻
We actually received even more than we needed, which allowed us to purchase anti-tick tablets and deworming pills—both are also greatly needed at the shelter.

A special thanks also goes to Animalis for their donations and for providing canned food as well!

The package is expected to arrive this week, and we will keep you updated!
