✅ Start small – Begin with 2–5 healthy goats and learn the basics before expanding.

✅ Build a proper shelter – Provide a clean, dry, well-ventilated pen that protects goats from rain and extreme weather.

✅ Choose the right breed – Select breeds suitable for your climate and production goals (meat, milk, or breeding).

✅ Provide quality feed and clean water – Goats need a combination of forage, browse, concentrates (when necessary), and constant access to clean water.

⚠️ This is what happens when foot rot is ignored.

What started as a simple infection between the claws gradually progressed to severe tissue damage, pain, and destruction of the foot.

Foot rot is a common problem in sheep and goats, especially during the rainy season when animals are constantly exposed to wet, muddy environments.

Signs farmers should never ignore:
🐑 Lameness or limping
🐑 Reluctance to walk
🐑 Swelling between the claws
🐑 Foul smell from the foot
🐑 Separation or damage of the hoof

The good news? Foot rot is preventable and treatable when detected early.

✅ Keep pens clean and dry
✅ Trim overgrown hooves regularly
✅ Isolate affected animals
✅ Seek veterinary attention immediately

A small limp today can become a major problem tomorrow.

We just wanted to confirm pregnancy but to our shock, yes there was pregnancy but instead of it growing, it was being reabsorbed back into the system. This led us to think about other factors that can cause this.
