The Neapolitan Mastiff (also called “Neo”) is a powerful, massive guardian breed originally from Italy. They are loyal, protective, and extremely devoted to their family — but they are NOT for everyone.
Here’s what you should know before bringing one home:
1️⃣ They Are Extremely Large
Neapolitan Mastiffs grow into giant dogs — males can weigh 60–70kg or more.
You need: ✔️ Big space
✔️ Strong fencing
✔️ Confidence handling large breeds
They are not ideal for small apartments.
2️⃣ Natural Guarding Instinct
This breed is highly protective. They are naturally suspicious of strangers.
Early socialization and proper training are VERY important to avoid aggression or fear-based behavior.
