4 REASONS WHY YOUR RAM IS LOSING WEIGHT EVEN THOUGH HE EATS LIKE A CHAMPION.

Many farmers pānic the moment their ram begins to slim down. They shout, “Ah! It must be sīckness!”
Relax. Sometimes your ram is not sīck but he’s just on a us£less diet.

A lot of weight lōss in rams has nothing to do with disēāse. It usually comes from management blunders that the ram is too polite to complain about.

Here are the main cūlprīts:

1. PASTURE THAT LOOKS GREEN… BUT HAS THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF CARDBOARD

Some grass is just grass.
Your ram can chew it from sunrise to sunset, but if it’s low in protein and energy, he’s basically eating fluffy decorations.
Yes, his stomach is full but his muscles are empty.

2. WORMS TREATING YOUR RAM LIKE AN ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BUFFET

A heavily worm-infēstēd ram is not eating for himself, he’s feeding a whole community of parāsites who contribute nothing to rent or electricity.
Deworm regularly or those freeloaders will finish him.

3. ZERO MINERALS, ZERO PROGRESS

Rams need minerals like students need pens.
Without them, the body cannot build muscle, strengthen bones, or digest feed properly.
A ram without minerals is basically operating on “trial and errōr.”

4. PLENTY OF FEED… BUT NO PROTEIN

If the only thing your ram gets is bulk feed, he’ll be full but skinny, the classic “big belly, no weight” syndr0me.
Protein is the real builder. Without it, the ram is just surviving, not thriving.

THE SECRET: FEED THE RUMEN, NOT JUST THE MOUTH

A ram with a healthy rumen will gain weight faster, digest feed better, and stay energetic enough to chase ewes like a true champion.

Give the rumen what it needs…
and your ram will surprise you with muscles you didn’t even know were in his family history.

The moment good protein and minerals enter the diet, your ram will transform like he just subscribed to a premium gym package.
