❤️ THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE GETTING A BENGAL
1) They're not low maintenance = Bengals are active, intelligent and highly engaged with their environment. Without enough physical and mental stimulation, they're much more likely to develop unwanted behaviours like excessive vocalisation and destructive scratching.
2) They need a job to do = Bengals are natural hunters and problem solving. Daily entertainment through puzzle feeders, climbing opportunities, training and interactive play isn't optional, it's essential for meeting their instinctive needs.
3) nutrition is key = Bengals are high energy, so their diet should prioritise animal based protein and moisture rich foods. A species appropriate diet helps support lean muscle, hydration and overall long term health
4) They need vertical space = Bengals love to climb because it gives them a safe place to observe their surroundings. Tall cat trees, shelves, and window perches or a catio to help them express their natural behaviour while increasing confidence and reducing boredom.
5) Routine Matters = despite their energetic personality, Bengals thrive on predictability. Consistent feeding time, play sessions, and daily routine help reduce stress and creates a confidence cat.
BUT.... THEY'RE WORTH EVERY BIT OF EFFORT
Owning a Bengal isn't always easy, but if you're willing to meet their physical and mental needs, you'll have an incredibly intelligent, affectionate, and rewarding companion.
