Think bathing your pet at home is always cheaper? Think again.
At first, home bathing looks simple.
Shampoo, water, towel. Done.
Then comes the part nobody counts.
Your time.
Washing a pet properly takes more than getting the coat wet and applying shampoo. You still need to rinse thoroughly, clean the right areas and handle a pet that may not want to cooperate.
The drying.
This is often the biggest job. A damp coat can take a long time to dry, especially when the coat is thick or dense. Leaving it partly damp can also create problems for coat and skin care.
The coat care.
A normal bath mainly cleans the coat. It does not automatically remove all the loose fur sitting underneath. If your pet sheds heavily, you may finish the bath and still find fur everywhere.
The mess.
Wet floor. Hair in the drain. Towels everywhere. A pet running around the house before they're completely dry.
And then your time starts again.
You still need to clean the bathroom, wash the towels and deal with the fur left behind.
So yes, bathing at home can save money.
But the real comparison isn't just the price of shampoo.
It's money versus your time, effort, drying equipment, coat care and the mess you have to handle yourself.
Sometimes the cheaper option on paper costs more in everything else.
