It is rich in carotenoids and phycoerythrin, providing powerful antioxidant properties and vibrant pigmentation.

It also contains high levels of essential fatty acids (EPA, DHA) and easily digestible cell content, making it an excellent nutrition source for corals, copepods, and filter feeders.
