When fluids therapy are no longer enough…
In certain severe kidney cases, when blood values remain high despite intensive fluid therapy, peritoneal dialysis (PD) may be considered as a supportive treatment option.
PD helps remove waste products gradually and may assist in stabilising patients who are not responding well to conventional treatment alone.
⚠️ This option is not suitable for every patient and requires careful case selection, close monitoring, and detailed discussion regarding risks, commitment, and prognosis.
At Pets Health Veterinary Clinic, our focus is to explore reasonable treatment options for critical patients, especially when time is crucial and referral may not be feasible.
If your pet has been diagnosed with severe kidney issues and is not improving as expected, feel free to speak to our veterinarians for further discussion.
