👁👁👁 **Reptiles and the “Third Eye” — a real thing many people don’t know about**

Many people may never notice this, but in some groups of animals, such as
🦎 reptiles
🐸 amphibians
🐟 fish

there is actually a special structure called the **“third eye.”**

For example, if you look closely at an iguana or certain types of lizards, you may see a small, pale circular spot on the **top center of the head**, with little pigmentation.
This structure is called the **pineal eye (parietal eye)**.
Some biologists even refer to it as
☀️ **“the sun compass.”**

👁‍🗨 **What does the third eye do?**

The pineal eye is **not used for seeing images** like normal eyes.
Instead, it plays important roles such as:

* Detecting light intensity
* Sensing day–night changes
* Helping regulate the biological clock (circadian rhythm)
* Assisting with navigation and seasonal behavioral adjustments

🧠 **Connection to the brain**

This third eye is directly connected to the brain
through a neural canal that ends in a spherical structure.
Inside, it contains layers of cells similar to **retina-like tissue**
and **photoreceptive proteins**,
allowing it to truly **detect light**, even though it cannot form images.

🐉 **For reptile keepers**

This knowledge helps us understand that
proper sunlight and artificial lighting
directly affect reptiles’ behavior, health, and life cycles.

We hope this exhibition allowed students to get up close with animals, learn new knowledge, and nurture compassion — it was truly our honor.

Kami berharap pameran oleh Galaxy Animal World dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan para pelajar tentang ekologi semula jadi serta merangsang minat mereka dalam penerokaan sains!
Aktiviti ini juga dapat memupuk literasi sains dalam kalangan pelajar dan meningkatkan kesedaran mereka tentang pentingnya menjaga kehidupan!
Kami turut mempamerkan pelbagai haiwan kecil yang biasa ditemui, membolehkan para pelajar memahami tabiat hidup dan pengetahuan ekologi haiwan-haiwan tersebut.

希望星辰宠物的展览可以提升学生对自然生态的认识，激发科学探索兴趣！此活动可以培养学生们的科学素养，也增强了他们爱护生命的意识！
